Exciting stuff. I'll start planning for it now! My homegrown help system is ok but centralizing it into one PDF will be a welcome change. Thanks!

Hi Matt,

Thank you for your feedback.

I have changed the status of the item to Planned. The control is planned for R2 2023 release. You can review the Telerik UI for .NET MAUI Roadmap for what's is coming in 2023: https://www.telerik.com/support/whats-new/maui-ui/roadmap

Like several others I am mega disappointed this is not planned as an urgent need. I liked your Xamarin Ui and purchased that. When I purchased NET Maui I didn't notice that the pdf viewer was not yet included, so I ended up going back to using Xamarin as the client insisted on having a pdf viewer. I have since temporarily moved over to a free syncfusion account as they offer a pdf viewer. I am driven by by clients' needs, it should be the same for Telerik!

We're in the same situation as Larry; not having the PDF Viewer makes migrating to MAUI a non-starter. We need this if we're going to keep with Telerik controls when migration happens.

Hi Urmila,

At this time, we cannot give you a hard date for expected release. We do know this is a highly sought-after feature and it is in our short-term plans.

Temporary Solution

In the meantime, you can always use the .NET MAUI WebView to load a PDF file. Yes, it is feature limited to whatever the native platform's web browser is, but in some cases that's pretty good (WinUI uses WebView2).

[EDIT]

I've moved the concept demo project to a different repository => LanceMcCarthy/CustomMauiExamples. There you will find one possible implementation of using the WebView to show PDF files in the src/CustomPdfViewer subfolder.

Hi Didi,

Is there a rough estimate by which we can expect this control in MAUI?

Thanks,

Urmila

Hi Hosam,

The control is in our plans. The item will be updated accordingly. There isn't an option I can suggest until the control is provided in the Telerik .NET MAUI suite.

Hello Jon,

Thank you for the provided feedback.

I will include the comments and annotations in the internal item for PdfViewer control. However, I cannot promise that these features will be available in the control when it's released, or we will add them at a later stage.

For Blazor pdf viewer, I suggest you submit a question as a support ticket, forum post or in the feedback portal for the Telerik UI for Blazor.

Didi

Nice job on Telerik, Kendo UI and Test Studio R3 2022!   I like the PDF Viewer UI Controls.  Question: Any plans to add annotations and comments to CLIENT-SIDE ONLY solution i.e. .NET Blazor MAUI libraries similar to this server-side only solution

https://www.syncfusion.com/blazor-components/blazor-pdf-viewer

Trying to move off of Xamarin. Thank you Jon

The lack of this control in the Maui library is preventing us from migrating from Xamarin Forms to Maui. Needless to say, we would very much like to see this added to Maui as soon as humanly possible. Feature parity between these two libraries is crucial for us. Thank you

Hello Jon,

There isn't an update. The control is in our plans, still we cannot commit a time-frame when it will be implemented. The public item status will be updated accordingly.

Hi All - Just checking in to see if there is any further information on a PDF Viewer for .NET Maui that does not need a connection to the server. Thanks Jon

Quick FYI. I've implemented a new help system that doesn't require the pdf viewer; therefore, you can ignore the urgency of my desire for this.

The help system in my app depends on PdfViewer. Without some type of (unknown) rewrite, I won't be able to port my app from Xamarin Forms to Maui. So... I hope this gets implemented very soon. Thanks.
