PopupSettings for Menu component
It would be necessary to have popupSettings binding for Menu component similar to those in Dropdowns.

Hi all,

This feature is still a must have as of august 2021.

I totaly understand the feature request system with community vote. But as a framework developer too, I would love to see more API consistency accross your components.

This advanced popup settings should be available for all of your components that use a popup.

I already made a similar remark for icons. Some of your component provide an icon property (ie. one provided by Kendo), some also provide iconClass which allow more advanced customization.

Consistency should be one of the top priority IMHO.

Most of the time Kendo UI team are responsive and provide workarounds. But for a large project like ours, having our code with a lot of workaround and comments like "remove this or refactor this when Kendo UI will provide a solution" is really not comfortable.

Would love to have Kendo UI opinion on this.

It's really important to have this setting so we can customize the popup menu.

Hi,

We have the same need for our project. It would be nice to have access to a popupSettings input to set a CSS class, the append location, ...

We have detailled our use case via a support ticket answered by Martin earlier today.

PS: for consistency sake, it would be awesome to have similar API for components that deal with the same features. For instance: autocomplete fields and menus both generate a popup but configuration is more advanced for fields, buttons and menus both support icons but configuration is more advanced for buttons (kendo icon, third party icon font/svg, image icon). For an application where we use a lot of Kendo UI components (23 kendo dependencies on our project), it is sometime frustrating to have heterogeneous features depending on the component you are working on.

Thanks for your support Progress!

Regards

Ivan

Dimiter Topalov has created this workaround  and we can have similar for dropdown popups too. Please consider it implementing it in a clean way around the components using popup.
