Dropdown with categories
It would be nice to be able to organize the content of dropdown list in categories, link car models organized by brand or cities organized by state or country.

I wanted to drop in here and mention that as a part of the 3.5.0 version of the `kendo-angular-dropdowns` package we officially included the "grouping" functionality, which is the term we use for working with categories across drop down components. Here's a demo of it in action with the DropDownList!

Yes, functionality like the optgroup in standard HTML dropdowns would be fantastic

Yes, group by in Comboboxes and DropdownLists is essential. We need this feature to migrate from jQuery Kendo to angular 2 Kendo

Some sort of grouping template is really needed. I'd love to be able to put simple headers or even PanelBars for each item group.

Yes, it would be great to able to combine the groupBy from kendo-data-query with the DropdownList
