Modeled after the jQuery widget: http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/dropdowntree/examples/overview/defaultcs.aspx
Hey folks!
As a quick update here, we are targeting to add the DropDownTree to Kendo UI for Angular as a part of our R1 2021 efforts (September -> January). Keep an eye on this thread for any updates!

Hi Tarang,
There is no specific target of votes that need to be reached - sometimes requests with less votes are granted and the respective features and components are released before such with more votes. Our project manager and the management team are monitoring all requests, and are choosing items for our roadmap, based on multiple factors, including the demand, the estimated developer resources that will be required, and the overall impact and business value of providing the enhancement/component.
As mentioned in the private support thread on the same subject, an offering that may be relevant and applicable to your needs is our Feature Acceleration program.
It allows a customer to negotiate a certain component or functionality to be implemented on demand or sooner than our roadmap implies. Feature acceleration fits well in scenarios where a feature or enhancement is important for an application's success, but it is not planned to be available at the time of the application's completion.
if anyone, following this thread, is interested in pursuing this option or otherwise benefiting from the expertise of our Professional Services team, please let me know at any time, and I will put you in touch with them to discuss the exact specifications and possible timeframes.

Hello Tarang,
Your concern is totally valid, and I understand that adding further overhead to the project is not desirable. It is indeed just a possible workaround, and having a dedicated Kendo UI for Angular component matching the capabilities of the the Kendo UI for jQuery widget will be optimal - this is our end goal too.
However, currently there is no DropDownTree component, and creating one is not a part of our immediate plans. This is why using the Kendo UI for jQuery DropDownTree is the only option for having such widget in the project for the time being. The additional overhead could be reduced by adding only the relevant part of the Kendo UI for jQuery library to the project:
https://www.telerik.com/kendo-angular-ui-develop/components/framework/kendo-jquery/#toc-loading-kendo-ui-for-jquery-partially
Our long term goals include providing Kendo UI for Angular counterparts for all (or most) Kendo UI for jQuery widgets, but this will take time to accomplish. The jQuery suite was developed for more than 8 years, and is still actively developed and enriched with new controls. We have already released Angular components, matching most of the widgets, but this is still a work in progress.
I can assure you we are actively monitoring all feature requests in the Feedback portal, and are frequently reevaluating our roadmap, based on the customer demand and perceived business value of the various requests. When we include the DropDownTree to our roadmap, this thread will be updated accordingly.

Thank You Demitter for your reply. But I have some concern. It does not make sense to me that if we are using Angular why would we add dependency to jQuery. We are using Telerik controls so that our dependencies to different products are less and it one shop solution. jQuery UI is just a workaround but we are looking for more permanent solution. Ideally if there is one control available in one product, same control or other control with similar functionality should be provided with all different version of product DropDownTree is simple control and it should be made available for Angular too.
Hi,
The DropDownTree is still not a part of our immediate plans. We are tracking the customer demand here, and will consider including this component in our roadmap, depending on the interest.
Meanwhile I can suggest integrating the Kendo UI for jQuery DropDownTree in the Angular application, as described in the following article:

Add the new DropDownTree from the jQuery version. Either a tree or flyout menu style would work well.
