Workaround is to group the fonts in a group in the following manner.
Before: {\fonttbl\f0\fnil Monospaced;\f1\fnil Tahoma;\f2\fnil Verdana;}
After: {\fonttbl{\f0\fnil Monospaced;}{\f1\fnil Tahoma;}{\f2\fnil Verdana;}}
