Slovak translation of Kendo NuGet package

Hi support team,

I have a question about translation of Kendo. I'm using Kendo as NuGet package dependency
and some text resources aren't translated to Slovak. They are still in English.
For example question in delete confirm dialog of grid and "Add new record" button of grid.
And in other widgets, but these two are the most important for me.
Is there any option to get translation working from NuGet package?
I tried everything i found, but nothing works.

Thanks in advance

Vlado

Hello Erich,

Slovak language is currently available in Kendo jQuery client side localization messages https://github.com/telerik/kendo-ui-core/tree/master/src/messages . However it is missing from the matching server side resource files and respectively from the Nuget in UI for ASP.NET Core indeed.

I've addressed this issue to our development team and we've logged it in our product backlog for the future planning. I've also made this thread visible on our Public Feedbback portal so it could get popular among the community and and other users could also vote for raising its priority:

You could still consider using the localization messages by including the relevant js localization file from the CDN as it is described in the following article:

https://docs.telerik.com/aspnet-core/globalization/localization#setting-the-current-language

Hi,

thanks for your reply, but i don't agree with you that Slovak language is not currently added to the distribution.

There is file named kendo.messages.sk-SK.js with all localized strings i need. The most of them are working OK in my project. Just look on the link you provided. Or did you mean, it's not packed into NuGet package?

Hi,

Localization is the process of adapting software to meet the requirements of local markets and different languages. You can change the messages that are displayed in the Telerik UI for ASP.NET Core helpers by including an additional script file in the document as it is shown in the following article:

https://docs.telerik.com/aspnet-core/globalization/localization

In addition there is an option for the components for localizing its user interface by utilizing the available Resources messages as well as providing custom messages as part of its configuration that you might consider, e.g. for Grid:

https://docs.telerik.com/aspnet-core/html-helpers/data-management/grid/globalization/localization

I'm sending you a sample project with that approaches applied for your reference.

Since Slovak is not one of the predefined languages that are currently added to the distributions, you could benefit from the "Creating New Localization Files" option. We will appreciate also if you consider contributing to the product as it is decribed in the following section:

https://docs.telerik.com/aspnet-core/globalization/localization#contribution

I hope you will find this information useful.

Please don't hesitate to contact us again if a specific issue pops up or in case you have other feedback or questions related to Kendo UI components.

Best Regards,
Misho
