ImageEditor: Drawing Annotations Layer - Drawing, Shapes

This is a feature request for an annotations layer that provides lines, shapes, text, etc.

These annotations:

Should not embedded into the bitmap until the image is saved (or otherwise flattened).
Should be importable/exportable as JSON data so that the developer can load/save the annotations separate from the image.

As an example of these features, see Techsmith's SnagIt Editor app.

I have upvoted and would like to see the .NET MAUI version of the ImageEditor to be similar to the WPF version.

Add Draw simple shapes and text over image like you have in the WPF image editor component.

You guys are doing an amazing job!

Hi Raymond,

I am sorry to hear the lack of this functionality prevents the migration to our controls.

We're prioritizing our backlog according to various factors, and customers' demand is indeed one of them, but there are other important factors as well - task complexity and overall product roadmap, to name a few. You can take a look at our current roadmap here: What's Coming in 2024?

I've raised the priority of this feature per your comment, we're going to update the item as soon as there is any progress on it.

May we know how many votes this feature need to have in order to be added to your backlog? :)
Lack of adding text annotations blocks our plans for migration from Syncfusion to Telerik...

There isn't an update on this feature request. The status is Unplanned. When there is an update the status will be changed.

Hi Juan,

The ImageEditor allows you to save images https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/maui/controls/imageeditor/saving-image. You can save the image in the following formats: Jpeg, Png, Gif and Bmp. Still the annotations are not implemented in the control. When there is an update on this feature request, the status of the item will be changed.

Would be nice if you can save the image with the drawing on top as PNG all together.
