Hi,

You can see how to implement a recursive search functionality in RadFileExplorer in the following KB article:

Hello,

As explained in your support ticket on this matter, with its current implementation of RadFileExplorer is loading the content of its folders on demand in order to optimize its performance. Implementing a Search in all sub-folders functionality will require a big change in the current behavior of the control, thus it have to be requested by many clients. You, and everybody who is interested in such improvement, can vote for its implementation here:

Good morning,

function "search" worths nothing if not find files in subfolders.

Even free control like IZWebFilemanager have this function.

I hope Telerik improve this function soon.

Thanks

Hi Roger,

The FileExplorer could indeed benefit hugely from an advanced search/filtering implementation. In that respect I would ask you for more feedback on how do you imagine this feature?
First of all do you imagine this as an improvement over the existing filtering UI, where the filtering would search within the children of the current directory and would list the results in an hierarchical manner?
Do you consider this functionality a separate dialog with search options defined there and the results listed in the current directory listing?
Or this could be a separate view along with the grid/details and thumbnails view, where the filtered results are listed in a specific manner?

Please, share your thoughts on this functionality.

Regards,
Niko
