Images with "*.jpeg" extension are saved as "*.jpg" in a different file

Images with "*.jpeg" extension are saved as "*.jpg" in a different file even if the "Overwrite" option is checked. 

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open an image with "*.jpeg" extension in ImageEditor (e.g. test.JPEG)
2. Edit the image
3. Open the Save Dialog and choose "Save Image On Server" with checked "Overwrite if file exists?" option

Result: The edited image is saved as a new files with jpg extension (e.g. test.jpg)

Hi Rob,

Thank you for reporting this issue and for your patience. Following a recent review, we re-evaluated this report and we have fixed the behavior, so images with the .jpeg extension keep their extension when saved.

The fix will be available in the 2026 Q3 SP1 release, planned for October 2026. If you notice anything unexpected after updating, please let us know and we will gladly look into it.

This behavior was originally reported over 7 years ago and has not received significant demand or follow-up from the community since then. Considering this, we are unable to prioritize it over more impactful and widely requested improvements.

If this limitation is still affecting your scenario, please share additional details or use cases. Your feedback will help us better evaluate the priority of this request in the future. Thank you for your understanding and contributions!
