ADD: Automatically resume failed file uploading
When upload larger files the connection may dropped during the file uploading. In result of this the selected file will not be uploaded successfully and the user will have to start the uploading from the beginning. This operation can be very annoyng when connection is slow.

The suggested features aims to allow resuming, when the failed file is selected again. The uploading should continue automatically from there it stopped.

Hi Rajeev,

Thank you for your vote on this super useful feature!

While we do want to have it as part of the RadAsyncUpload functionality, the problem is that we still cannot guarantee that it will work reliably.

We have in mind that this is one of the top features for the asyncupload requested by our community and we will let you know right away once we have progress on this and when it will get planned.

Best Regards,
Rumen

Hi Hristo,

We have been waiting for this feature from long time.

Any update?

Is this feature still unplanned?

Hi Isha,

Thank you for sharing this absolutely valid use case - a network failure!

I agree with all of you that this is going to be a very nice functionality to have an automatic resuming of the failed file. So far we are do not have a solution, but due to the interest of the community in this feature, I raised its priority to High in our backlog.

Unfortunately, I can not provide an ETA for when it will be implemented since there are too many factors on which it relies.

Hi,

My colleague Rajeev had voted for this feature earlier.

Our software is also used in remote locations. The only low bandwidth internet connection available is through satellite.

This is often unreliable depending on weather conditions or other factors.

Remote users often have to upload files several times because of intermittent failures.

Would it be possible to implement this retry for network failures?

Thanks,
Isha Chib

Hi Rajeev,

I hope you are doing good!

For the time being, the control offers only manual pause and resuming of the uploaded file - https://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/asyncupload/examples/manualupload/defaultcs.aspx

The implementation of the automatic resuming depends on multiple factors like network, storage location, browser capabilities, and API which make it a very complex task that prevents us from providing a reliably working solution.
