Grid Toolbar is not persistent with state

Hi Team,

Bug Report

The Kendo UI Grid's toolbar with a template is not persisted when the Grid is loaded using setOptions. 

Reproduction of the problem

With a toolbar containing a template with server tags, the toolbar content will disappear.

Expected Behavior

The Grid should retain the toolbar with the HTML contained when using setOptions.

Environment

Kendo UI version: 2022.2.510
jQuery version: all
Browser: all

Hello Brandon,

This behavior is expected when using server-side templates with the Grid MVC wrapper. Server templates are rendered on the server and are not included in the client-side configuration returned by getOptions().

When setOptions() is called, the Grid is destroyed and recreated, so the server-side toolbar template cannot be restored. The same limitation applies when the retrieved options are serialized with JSON.stringify(), since function references are not preserved.

To persist the toolbar content, use a client-side JavaScript template or add the equivalent toolbar configuration back to the options object before calling setOptions().

We are closing this item as by design.
