External style sheet is not working in Web report designer at design-time

We are using the external style sheet file (StyleSheet.xml) when designing our report from Web report designer. We want to see our style sheet applied on our report when we see the report from Web designer in design mode. In Preview mode it is working fine.  But the problem here, it is not working in Design mode.

See the attached pictures. You find our problem on the picture ExternalStyleInWebDesigner-DesignMode.PNG

Is there any solution or a feature request needs to be created?

FYI: External style sheet is working in Standalone report designer in both design and preview mode.

We have not yet planned a release date for this feature, I am afraid. As soon as there are news, the item will be updated and you should receive a notification since you are subscribed to the FR.

Any updates on this item? We plan to use the Web Report Designer instead of Standalone Report Designer. It would be nice to get this resolved asap.

I have already answered in the ticket but I want to also mention it here so that it is visible to the rest of the people following this feedback item.

The issue has indeed not been fixed yet and is not on our roadmap currently. Whenever the fix is scheduled for release, this item will be updated with the necessary information.

Hi Dimitar,

I tested this with latest release (R2 2022 (16.1.22.511)) but it still not fixed yet. Saving and reloading the report also doesn't show style applied in design mode. When you go to preview mode then it will work. I created this support ticket View Ticket | Your Account (telerik.com) for this issue.

Hi Tursunkhuja,

Do you use the latest release?

This workaround was tested on the latest release and was working locally. Saving and reloading the report should apply the styles when the latest version is used, if it does not, please feel free to open up a support ticket where the case can be discussed.

Keep in mind that if you have done this in an earlier version, you may need to redo the operation of adding the external stylesheet, saving and loading the report again.

Hi Todor,

Report file and its external style sheet file are saved. So, we just opening already saved report through web designer. We can not see the external style applied in design time. If I understood correctly, your suggested workaround doesn't work in this case. In preview mode then you see the style applied.

Hi Marvin,

I agree that applying the stylesheets at design time would improve the user experience. Unfortunately, this is not in our plans for the upcoming release of R2 2022.

As a workaround, you may save and reload the report in the web designer in order to see the style also at design time.

Thank you for your patience with this. I have confirmed with the development team that this feature is not present in the Web Report Designer. As a result, I have converted this to a feature request and moved the status to unplanned.

As a workaround, I recommend using the preview function to ensure that the correct styles are applied. Once the development team has investigated this in more detail someone from the team will reply.
