Enable the Standalone Report Designer to reference .Net Core / .NET 5 / .NET Standard libs for Object Data Source / User Functions
New development is being done with net core 3.1 and netstandard 2.1 and we can no longer create reports in the Report Designer using the ObjectDataSource.
Seems like it's time to update the standalone Report Designer for these new standards.

Hello,
In R3 2022, we released the Standalone Report Designer for .NET 6 with most of the functionality of the designer for the .NET Framework. Please, find more details in the Release History and What's New.

Hello Claus,
Currently, our main focus is on the Visual Studio Report Designer targeting .NET Core. Note that we also have this feature request -Standalone ReportDesigner targeting .net 6. I voted for it on your behalf, so once there is an update on the status, you will receive a notification.

Any news on this? We're targeting NET 6 and the Reporting libraries work but not the Standalone Designer.

Hi Rick and all,
Changing the Title to reflect the actual problem you need to be solved. This would track more precisely user interest. Hope this is fine for you.

Hi Rick,
Thank you for this input. We would also like to introduce a Standalone designer and Visual Studio Report designer for .NET Core. We rely on Microsoft Windows Forms Design-Time functionality for these designers. Unfortunately, this functionality is not mature enough in .NET Core. As soon as the necessary state of Windows Forms Design-Time is achieved we will release our Report designers for .NET Core. More information can be found in the Make Visual Studio designer work with .NET Core (a.k.a. SDK-style) projects feature request.

Todor
