I was told this was going to be fixed in the (mid) January 2019 release.

I just updated your library today, and I came to find that there are NO fixes for this. I then come back to this thread to see that it is still marked 'In Development'.

When can this fix be expected to be rolled out?

Not only does it not disappear, but there is no way of handling the Return Command (cross-platform) coming from the base Entry when the Enter button is hit.
