AutoComplete: Remote search
Allow customers to easily take the user input and trigger custom searching algorithm and assign the results to the ItemSource of the AutoComplete.

Available in R3 2018 release as part of the feature-set of the new and improved RadAutoCompleteView control, for more details refer to: https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/xamarin/controls/autocompleteview/autocompleteview-overview

Hi all,

With the upcoming R3 2018 release RadAutoComplete will provide the option to load its data when the text inside the input field is updated, so you could implement remote search functionality.

Yes please include this feature. It is very important to be able to query large data sets that should not be immediately available to the control. With limited memory (especially older mobile devices), it does not make sense to load 10,000+ items into memory. Especially if they are complex objects.

I too agree.  It seems like an obvious requirement to me.  I'm trying to create an auto completion address control (very common nowadays), but without loading every single New Zealand address into the ItemSource, it can't be done.

I agree with being able to hit a service to retrieve data it just doesn't make any sense to use this control
