Telerik Visual Studio recording crashes after new Visual Studio update

Currently using Visual Studio Professional 2026. I have recently updated to the August 2026 Feature Update (18.9.0).

I am attempted to record a WPF application. I am able to select the executable and click record, however upon doing so as soon as I click on any button in the UI, both my application and the Telerik recording control popups freeze, and start displaying "Not responding". Eventually the Telerik recording will crash. The application under test remains open.

I have attempted to try this with numerous applications, each with the same result.

Hello Nathan,

Thank you for the report.

We were able to reproduce this issue after upgrading to Visual Studio Professional 2026 v18.9.0. Our team has confirmed the behavior and is investigating a fix.
At this time, we do not have a workaround available other than reverting Visual Studio to a previous version where the issue does not occur.
