Let me share some additional details on the case and how you can avoid any confusion in the future. 

While exploring the case it turned out that the original design of the result grids will not allow us to implement any meaningful change that will really affect the user experience. The sub-grids - where the steps are listed, reuse the sorting applied on the previous level - where are the tests included in the test list. So, to be able to review the steps in the order they were executed you need to clear the sorting on the previous layer.

I understand that this may not be convenient enough, but at least when you know what caused it, you can handle the situation easier.
