Data loss while maintaining data bound tests within a project
Steps to reproduce:

1. Copy and Paste an existing test case (bound to an Excel datasource)
2. Rename the new copy and save it.
3. Change the data binding or any other step in the new saved copy and save again.

4. Close and open the project.

Expected: All changes to be saved in the newly copied and renamed test.

Actual: Only the new name is saved but all further changes are not present.

Note: On the other hand if the save action in step 2. is missed and all changes are saved with a single save action, all of them are present after reopening the project.

Has there been a product release for Jan 2017 yet?

The issue was triggered after rename operation of copy/pasted test in same session. no changes marked test dirty. The issue is now fixed and solution will be available in our next internal product release, planned in early Jan 2017.

Hi, Linday.
The described behavior is not limited to data bound tests only. It concerns copied/pasted tests within a project including the rename action. It is currently under investigation from the engineering team and once a solution is found and implemented this post will be updated accordingly.
Thanks for your understanding!

I have been experiencing this without any data binding. I'm wondering if it might have something to do with using the recorder. Another thing I experience is that, when my test isn't saving, it doesn't show the asterisk in its tab to indicate it's been edited.

Elena, have you noticed either of those?
