"This scheduling service has no storage server configured" error when configuring scheduling server
ISSUE:

Updated to Test Studio R1. When trying to execute test lists locally, the lists will not execute. There are no enabled options on the panel to "Select Machine(s) to Execute the Testlist" and when I click Done, I get an error message which reads:

"No machines available for scheduling. You can register machine either during configuring the server or via the client machine setup."

If I double-click the Test Runner icon in the system tray, there is an "Error Starting Tab".

To resolve, we removed the contents of C:\ProgramData\Telerik\Configs Directory and reinstalled.

Then we try to use the workaround found in this kbase article, but get the following message:

"This scheduling service has no storage server configured. Please configure storage for this scheduling service, or connect to a different scheduler. "

We used the All In One install process (default settings) so Test Studio should not be looking for a storage server of any kind. What could be causing this?

r.van.der.pal, there was an internationalization issue with the new execution server. It was fixed (in the service pack I believe). Please update and see if you are able to run now.

Kendall, please contact support, we got the issue figured out for the previous user. They had problems starting the execution server due to antivirus taking up the default port. Support can work with you to find out what the issue is and get you up and running.

Same issue here, I'm on the latest stable build and even tried the internal. Can't tell which version anymore but thanks.

Same here, error tab states: "Cannot start execution server", first line of error log refers to PDH_CSTATUS_NO_COUNTER (a performance counter is not found). Using Win 7 professional, all in one install, also: can't run test lists.
