Feature Request - New Property in report object for list of fields those are used in the report.

Hi,

I request you to add a new property in the report object when we unpackage the TRDP file to get a list of fields that are used in the report template.

Currently, We are not able to identify how much data we need to extract from the database as we are using the ObjectDataSource component in the report we have the number of fields in the data source but fewer were used in the report template hence on the performance point of view we need to get data only for those fields.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for this input. We will consider it for implementation.

Meanwhile, after unpackaging/instantiating the report, you may iterate through all report items/groups/sections and search for the strings "=Fields." and "=ReportItem.DataObject." to get the names of the utilized data fields. Note that you need to look in all report item/group/section properties that may have an Expression as a value. For example, Value, Bindings, Filters, Sortings, Groupings, etc.
