PDF format not compatible with Bluebeam Revu PDF

The pdf documents generated with Telerik Reporting are not compatible with the BlueBeam Revu PDF editing tool.

For example, if we select a text and try to change the font size, the selected text inverts (upside down) and flies to the left of the document.

Hi Barry,

I contacted their support through the submit form on the BlueBeam website on March, 17th. I explained the problem, providing a link to an archive that includes a sample report and a video that reproduces the issue. Their support representative contacted me immediately and explained they have troubles accessing the archive, so I send them an email with the same archive and on the next day, March 18th, I received an answer. Since it doesn't contain sensitive information, I will paste it here:

Hi Ivan.

Thank you for the zip file. I was able to see this issue in Revu 2019 and Revu 2018. I am in the process of discussing what resources are available for this issue. I will reach out to you later today once that determination has been made.

This is the last message I got from them. I got a number of my support ticket: Case #00460166 , but I don't see how to track its progress. I assume they work with limited capacity due to the recent COVID-related events. However, I will contact them on Monday just to see if there is any progress on the issue.

Our new company is keen for us to switch to BlueBeam PDF. Can you confirm you are working with the BlueBeam developers for them to try and resolve this?

The PDF documents generated by Telerik Reporting use inverted transformation matrix to represent the text entities, which also requires to use negative font size. This approach is supported by most of the popular PDF viewers and editors like Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat, Foxit suite, Nitro PDF, etc. It seems the BlueBeam Revu PDF editor doesn't respect this model of storing the properties and editing such PDF produces unexpected results.

Refactoring this representation model is not in our immediate plans, since it would require significant effort to rewrite such basic part of the PDF rendering. Currently we can only recommend to use another editor that correctly reads our documents or use an intermediate tool to convert the PDF documents to editable format.
