ability for report header to reclaim empty space left by conditional formatting
Currently, if you wish to hide extra details on the second page of a report, the space taken up by the area is left blank which looks terrible and not conducive to professional report design.

Unfortunately using report books for this is not a valid option. Using the Report Book means quite a bit of extra work when all you need is for the second page to not have an glaring empty space. If I understand the process correctly, this means creating 2 reports which are nearly duplicates plus merging with Report Book for each 1 report that you are developing. This is unresonable to expect from enterprise shops that will develop hundreds of reports.

I urge you to review your implementation in order to find a way to implement this feature in the future.

IMO, this feature is still missing. Does the Report Header Band have conditional formatting that hides the band, sure it does and if the band is hidden, the "REPORT" does reclaim that space. However, when I read what this is asking for, is we want to be able to have controls that are conditionally formatted in the Report Header Band, and if those controls are hidden in the Report Header Band, the Reset of the report reclaims that empty space, Currently, this doesn't do that. I have created a new request for exactly that, since this one is closed and marked as implemented.

This feature is implemented in Telerik Reporting R1 2017 (version 11.0.17.118) ( https://www.telerik.com/support/whats-new/reporting/release-history ).
However, when the expression used to determine the Visibility of the PageSection depends on PageExec aggregates the result may be confusing. In this case, the act of hiding the page section leads to more content fitted on the page which leads to a different value of the PageExec expression. It is a chicken and egg case and should be used extra carefully.

Just like the other users, we also would like to have this feature delivered!

Yea.. the inferior support for Teleriks reporting is actually to blame for me skipping renewing the entire Telerik suite this year.
My main requirements are ASP.NET and reporting, and moving from ASP.NET to MVC, makes it not worth the cost, when telerik-reporting seems like a dead end.

I can't believe there is still someone waiting for this.... I already changed to DevExpress, it has a powerful Reporting feature. Maybe you guys could try. Telerik Report already dead a long time ago.

yes Marcel , we are also stuck in reporting pergatory. We basically support 2 different options, Crystal reports (with its 100 MB redistributable file to install on every windows machine), and Microsoft report builder which is only about 10MB but so much harder to design reports in. So depending on the requirements we use one or the other, or we just dump data into excel using our own "Excel Report writer". It would be nice if Telerik could emerge as the winner in this space and we could dump all the others, but they dont seem to be listening, so we dont support them at the moment. No point supporting another half baked report writing tool.

We also need this feature, after 4,5 years this is still not implemented????

Crystal Reports has this already for years, we wanted to create all our reports with Telerik but after discovering this we will use Crystal Reports instead. Too bad Telerik is not solving this and not even give an update an this request here?

The workarounds are useless if we cant shrink the sections.

We also need this feature!

We also need this feature. It's possible with crystal reports and Ms access reports however Microsoft report builder (rdl) and telerik don't offer it. We would switch from crystal if telerik offered this because we are tired of the bloated 80mb runtime and slow report loading that crystal offers.

This has been requested since 2008. Will this ever be addressed? Frustrating!

So we are talking about this for years and there ist still no fix on this???
I do not know the background for this and so can't know how much trouble your coders have with it, but this is seriously something that should have been fixed a long time ago.
I don't even know other Report-Engines having this kind of 'problem'. It would be really fair to give us more details about the progress.

Kind regards

It's not a feature to develop! It's a bug to fix!

Nobody need to replace something he want to hide with a blank space!

This needs to happen - who wants a big white space at the top of their report?!

I also agree with mamatjan comment, reporting team work speed is too low to mention

I think there is only 1 developer for Telerik Reporting. developing feature speed is slow as hell.

Would also be nice for an option to print report header before page header. We are converting ActiveReports to Telerik and this is a major problem for us (AR prints report header before page header, which is only logical).

I have a requirement to print a couple of fields(that are printed on the report header) on every page except the first page as a reference to the Report when the data spans more than one page. I tried using conditional formatting using pageNumber and visible property. Everything works except that I see this ugly white space in the header section on the first page.

Allowing the invisible items to not take space in the Page Header section would be great!

Please fix it so when I say to Not show my page header on the first page, that it doesn't leave that big empty space that my page header would of taken up. I really don't understand why we even have this option, because the same result could of been accomplished by using conditional formatting. I need my report header block to have that space! This has been requested way back as far as 2007 from what I can tell and many times since. Please fix this...
Thank you

@Tomas, Ok then, I thought there is already can set a footer for every page. I give you a vote. :-)
Tomas
Posted on: 10 Mar 2015 08:19
@Mamatjan, No that's not what I'm saying. I only want the page footer visible on the first page (and that is already possible) and on subsequent pages I do not want the page footer to take up space as I've set it to Visible = False. And that is not possible at the moment.

@Tomos, So you mean second page footer need docked at the end?
I think, there is already some one said before. and it In Development. http://feedback.telerik.com/Project/162/Feedback/Details/134805-allow-report-footer-to-be-docked-at-the-bottom-of-the-report

@Mamatjan, I do not see how that will benefit my situation? I need to print a "payment slip" on the bottom of the first page of an invoice according to my countrys standards. If the invoice is longer than one page I currenlty hide the payment slip on subsequent pages but I cannot use the empty space for invoice rows instead a third of the page is left blank. The pages are fixed A4 size.

@Tomas, reclaim empty space? Why don't you just vote my roll-paper feature request?(for auto height)
Tomas

I also need to be able to reclaim empty space when conditionally hiding page footer
