Unable to cast object of type 'Telerik.Reporting.Processing.Expressions.ProcessingEvalProvider' to type 'Telerik.Reporting.Expression.IValueObject' on previewing the results in WebServiceDataSource

Error: Unable to cast object of type 'Telerik.Reporting.Processing.Expressions.ProcessingEvalProvider' to type 'Telerik.Reporting.Expression.IValueObject'

is thrown on previewing the data source results in the WebServiceDataSource when the Runtime or Design time expressions are left completely empty or the runtime value is a report parameter with an empty Value property.

Same issue, even with existing web service data source that worked well for 2023 R1 Telerik Report Designer.

 

Step to replicate in Telerik Report Designer 2023 R3 SP1

1. Right click Web Service Data Source

2. Configure

3. Set values for first tab

4. Next

5. Set parameters

6. Next

7. Click on Download

8. Got error:  Unable to cast object of type 'Telerik.Reporting.Processing.Expressions.ProcessingEvalProvider' to type 'Telerik.Reporting.Expressions.IValueObject'
