Better visualisation of detail/groups for tables in designer

Coming from having developed many SSRS reports one thing I think telerik is missing is a nicer visualisation of row and column grouping in a table. SSRS does this really well as shown in the screenshot below where we can easily see which rows belong to the detail and 2 other groups.

I think this would be a very useful addition to the telerik designers!

I have been developing another report recently that has complex grouping and not being able to visually see where rows belong in the grouping heirarchy is extremely frustrating :-(

Hello Tommy,

Thank you for your engagement and for bringing this up. Indeed, this is a valuable addition to the design time experience. We will update this feature request once it gets planned / in development.

I have been developing a report again today that has multiple grouping including "adjacent" groups... It is impossible to know which rows in my table are now headers, details, groups etc...
I feel this is a very important missing feature.

Below is a screenshot from a similar report in Microsoft SSRS which does show this information/

In the screenshot below from the standalone Telerik report designer it is only through trial and error that I can identify that the bottom row actually belongs to the "person" group.

Hi Tommy,

Thank you for this valid input.

I also think a feature like this would enhance the user experience and facilitate report creation and editing.
