Customize error messages in the Web Report Designer

We have implemented custom storage (IDefinitionStorage) with the SaveDefinition method where it saves the edited report in a custom way. There can be some validations and save can fail. For this, I am just throwing a new Exception. The error message is showing in a general way, and it doesn't show my custom message.

Hello Mirzodaler,

I am afraid that the feature is not in our plans for release this year, see Telerik Reporting Roadmap.

With that being said, you may modify some of the error messages through the Localizing the Web Report Designer approach.

Hi Todor,

This item still impedes us from using Web Report Designer in production. When the user saves the report via web designer, we can't show the reason for failure in case it is failed saving. 

Can you prioritize this item for the next release?

Hello Mirzodaler,

The particular error comes from the controller and we display it in the browser console. The pop-up error is more general by design.

The feature implementation is still 'unplanned', meaning that it is not in our roadmap for a year ahead. You will be automatically updated when its status changes.

Note that you may accelerate its implementation through our  Feature Customization program.
