It would be nice to have a simple built-in function to provide a page number PER GROUP.

This should also be supported in the standalone designer. 
There is currently a workaround via external assembly but this is not very elegant.

AND...  The number of pages in the group.  Other reporting solutions have this, and have had it for many years.  

I appreciate it may be limited in functionality due to the one-pass reporting run, but if it was special-cased such that any expression relying on the number of pages in the group would be evaluated for text output but not necessarily be able to affect layout, then it'd be possible.

As someone who has just managed to get the page number per group working in the external designer via the hacky workaround provided by Telerik support (thanks for that, but it's still a hack) I'd really appreciate this as end-users reasonably expect their reports to be able to do this.
