SpreadProcessing: Add support for external references to another workbook
With the current implementation, references like in the following expression cannot be evaluated and are treated as strings:
=SUM('C:\Users\Your user name\Desktop\[Workbook_1.xlsx]Sheet1'!A1:B2)
That said, this task (SpreadProcessing: Add support for external references to another workbook) is currently not on our roadmap for the foreseeable future and I also wouldn't want to mislead you by giving you any incorrect information just for the sake of it. Once any item is resolved, we immediately update the public feedback page to notify our clients so the best thing I can offer is to subscribe to the task in order to track its progress and don't miss potential updates.
If you have any questions about any of these two tasks feel free to continue the conversion in their respective threads.
I have an XLS with "= LOOKUP(somewhere in space without access)" from external.
Excel shows the value the creator got through the lookup and THIS value I want to get - of course too. Support is mixing this up. This is for accessing and running external formulas, but not to get the "cached" value from the creator.
