Following the ReportServerManual.pdf I meet the system requirements, using Visual Studio 2013 and have followed the installation guide but I am getting the following error when running the report server web application;

"A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 50 - Local Database Runtime error occurred. Cannot create an automatic instance. See the Windows Application event log for error details.
)"

I have checked the application pool identity has permission to the files.
Please advise. Kind regards, Scott.

I am new to the product (Telerik Report Server Q1 2016). I have followed the Installation guidlines to setup Telerik Report Server on my machine but failed to install the product.

Error description: The product Setup failed to automatically configure IIS. Please make sure the IIS and ist ASP.NET/ASP.NET45 features are installed and run the Setup again.

I have been trying to find a solution for the past 3 hours but failed.

My machines is running with:
OS : Windows 10
.NET Framework: 4.6
Visual Studio: VS2015
IIS: 10.0

Any Information would help.

Thanks
-Prem

Please consider to provide access to the Report Server API via client (most probably Javascript). We want to get a report rendered in a given format in a Java based application by creating a custom client of the service.

How can I use the Report Server with other Report viewers? (aspnet, mvc, winforms, and wpf viewers)

I found the Report Designer accessing hosted reports by a URL like "http://127.0.0.1:83/FX/Currencies.trdx", but there is no way to pass the server auth parameters.

I tried to do it by code, but the UriReportSource only have the "Parameters" collection that reflect the report parameters, not the server.

Also, take in considration how to accept a server certificate if the report server is running over HTTPS.

Do you plan to support sub-reports?
If yes, take in-considration passing its reports via server interface, scheduled jobs, or by aspnet/mvc/winforms/wpf viewers.

One of the biggest draw backs I am having while pitching the Telerik reporting products is the amount of work that would be involved in converting our existing report libraries to the Telerik reporting format. You all have some conversion capability built into the Telerik Reporting Designer, but it is so limited that we rarely find a report that we can use it with. I know you all have a disclaimer stating that as the case. However when I am trying to persuade my peers to take a look at your reporting products that single scenario is the one that I can never win and rightfully so.

I would really love to either see operability within your reporting server to be able to schedule and distribute a multitude of report formats such as SRSS, Active Reports, and Crystal or a much more reliable and feature rich converter.

Our company has many different profit and loss groups which act as mini-companies that share customers, vendors & transport companies. Each group doesn't want the other groups to view reports relating to their contracts, shipments & invoices.

This has been one of the failing of the Microsoft Report Server. I would have to pass in the query string the groupid. Any group could manipulate the query string to see other groups reports. So all reports are built in the web app with the groupid setup in their profile.

A solution to our type of business reporting needs would be helpful. Otherwise we will just roll our own reports in the next version also.
