With the 2022 R1 release the Report Server storage can preserve all additional assets so that these can be shared among reports. This functionality is available in the Web Report Designer, part of the reports administration web app. This designer should be enabled from the Configuration page. The designer now has a dedicated tool called Asset Manager for easy storage and management of additional report assets like:

• All image files used in PictureBox items, backgrounds, chart marks, etc.
• CSV, JSON and shape definition files used to feed data to the reports
• External style sheet XML files used to introduce common stylization of your reports

The report author can reach the Asset Manager from the main menu of the designer to upload new and manage the existing assets organized in folders for easy navigation and retrieval. Once on the server, an asset may be reused in the same or another report definition by referencing it from the particular property editor of the target property.

Alternatively, all the CRUD operations that can be accomplished using the UI are exposed in the ReportServer.HttpClient tool as well. This enables developers to manage the set of resources available for report authoring, providing an even better experience to the end-user.
