Have the report server hosted inside of (single sign-on)
It would be great if users didn't need to authenticate with two different web applications.

I would use the report server integrated with my current ASP.net website. It would be great if it authenticated and authorized users based on the same roles also.

We have just released a feature called Custom Login Provider, which enables covering the single sign-on scenario. More info at https://docs.telerik.com/report-server/implementer-guide/custom-login-provider . Full list of all new features part of the R3 2018 Release can be found at https://www.telerik.com/support/whats-new/report-server/release-history/progress-telerik-report-server-r3-2018-4-2-18-912 .

To summarize, our goal is to provide single sign-on capability as explained in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_sign-on (changing the title a little bit to allow easy find from other users)

Yeah standalone with no integration into the core app is not going to give a good expereince

I agree with Kevin. The two items that would hold me back from using the Telerik Report Server are:
1. Integration with my delivered application (so the branding, etc. would fit)
2. Integration with my delivered authentication scheme (initially, Forms Auth and Windows Auth).

Without those 2 key items, I'd rather wrap the Telerik Reporting Web Viewer.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.
Such integration opportunity is not part of our immediate plans and this year roadmap. But we will definitely think over it.

Greetings,

I agree, this is going to be one of our requirements as well.
