Q4 2024 (SVG Icons) Kendo Default Theme, cannot apply any of the provided color swatches.

Hi,

I created a new Q4 2024 (SVG Icons) Kendo Default Theme.

When I try to apply any of the provided color swatches, I see a loading spinner for 30 seconds and a "Failed to save document" error.

When I checked the network requests, I noticed that PATCH https://themebuilderapp.telerik.com/api/v1/projects/67a267df70e5e715ec193d0e/variables method returns 500 Internal Server Error with "Transaction with { txnNumber: 11 } has been aborted." error.

Hello Max,

 

Thank you for providing insights regarding VPN usage. After further investigation and testing in various locations and environments, we were able to reproduce the issue you described, which appears to be related to a specific timeout. We have logged this as a bug on the following public GitHub thread, which you can use for reference and tracking: https://github.com/telerik/themebuilder/issues/145. I will also update this ticket as soon as we deploy a stable fix.

Hi,

FYI. I managed to apply a dark swatch after I used VPN to Germany and used Theme Builder. When I disconnected from the VPN and tried again (New York), it did not work.

So, at least now, I have a workaround if needed.

Hi,

I tried to apply the "Default Main Dark" swatch on different PCs, but the result was always the same. I see a spinner for a couple of minutes, the status changes to error, and the colors stay the same.

I shared my theme with "themebuilder@progress.com" and made screenshots for each step (attached)

Hello Max,

We attempted to reproduce the issue but have not been successful so far. Could you please create a new project and try using a color swatch again? If you continue to experience the issue, please share the affected ThemeBuilder project with themebuilder@progress.com using the "Share" option in the ThemeBuilder dashboard.
