Export Selected option Exporting all the Token Variable - Q4 2024

Hi Team,

I encountered an issue while exporting a few selected components from the theme build. When I use them in my application, I’m seeing variable-related errors in the index file.

Please refer to the screenshot below:

In the screenshot, you can see that I have not exported the AppBar, Badge, and BottomNavigation components. However, their variables still appear in the index file.

I’m currently using:

kendo-theme-material": "^10.1.0"

Kindly look into this issue.

Hey Ajeesh,

Yes, I can confirm that the issue has been logged and prioritized. We plan to introduce a fix in the upcoming release. However, I cannot provide a specific date at this time. I will update both the linked public thread (which you can also use for tracking purposes) and this ticket as soon as the fix is published and available live.

Thank you for acknowledging the issue and providing a detailed workaround. I appreciate the prompt support and your efforts in adding my scenario to the public thread for tracking.

Could you please confirm once the scenario has been successfully recorded? Additionally, I’d like to know when you plan to resolve this issue and in which release we can expect the fix.

Hello Ajeesh,

Thank you for sharing the project and providing additional details!

I can confirm that the behavior you observed is indeed a legitimate bug in ThemeBuilder. We have recently acknowledged this issue in the following public GitHub thread: https://github.com/telerik/themebuilder/issues/137. I have added your scenario as a comment on the thread, which you can use for reference and to track the progress of the bug. Once we have a stable solution, we will promptly update both the public thread and this ticket.

In the meantime, you can follow these steps as a temporary solution:

1. Open your ThemeBuilder project and select the "Export All" option.

2. Open the generated theme and copy the content of the _tokens.scss file.

3. Open your ThemeBuilder project again, and this time, use the "Export Selected" option.

4. Open the new theme and replace the content of the _tokens.scss file with the one you copied from the previous export (from all components).

The differences should be approximately 200 lines of code, which corresponds to roughly 10KB in size.

To investigate this issue further, please share the affected project with themebuilder@progress.com using the "Share" option from the project's menu.

Additionally, please list all components that are selected in the "Select Components" screen. Based on the screenshot, we see the following ones, but please confirm if others are also selected but not visible (due to the scroll).
