Figma Export Number Variable Conversion to rem

Figma doesn't allow storage of rem units in number variables; automatically converting to unitless pixel values. It would be nice to have the ability, during ThemeBuilder export from Figma, to select specific variables to be converted to rem units. And, maybe as a bonus, setting a custom base size of 1rem (instead of 16px).

Hey Andrew,

We are facing a major issue due to the absence of native support for REM in Figma. We are currently exploring various approaches to resolve this issue. One of the options we are considering is allowing modifications in ThemeBuilder by unlocking the imported Figma variables. Our team is actively evaluating all possible solutions, and we will keep this thread updated with any related information.

Thanks, Nick. I really hope this one gets picked up as it's a must-have. Our design system depends on these values being in rem. So, until this is an option (or Figma allows rem units in number variables), we can't use the Figma import plug-in. 😞
