More control over custom variables

Hello,

We are planning on setting many custom variables and would like more control over their ordering and naming.

  • Enable sorting of custom variables
  • Enable numbers in variable names

Thank you for your consideration!

Hi Jan,

Thank you for your feedback.

I'm glad to inform you that soon we should start working on a smart algorithm that will allow linking variables no matter their order.

If you have other suggestions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Hi,

I would like to mention another problem related to sorting of custom variables:
  • Let's say, I create two custom variables (A and B) in the following order: A, B.
  • I can assign A as a value of B but not vice versa (because of their order).
  • Currently, the only way to reorder them is to delete and recreate them.
  • This is very inconvenient and sometimes even not possible in case they are already used somewhere.
Allowing custom order for variables would be great improvement.

Hi Ian,

Thank you for contacting us.

  • With the next release, we will introduce the support for numbers and capital letters for the variable names.
  • As for your second request, we agree that it would be nice to have a way to reorder variables. We will include this in our backlog.
