When using the Nova theme locked command columns are not styled correctly.
In the following dojo one command column is locked and not styled while another command column is not locked but styled correctly.

Here's the code in case the dojo doesn't work:
<!DOCTYPE html>Regression introduced in R3 2019 SP1. Reproducible with the LESS themes.
All of the text in the filter menu gets selected.
No text selection.
I hope other developers realize the importance of this feature and vote for it. It would be nice (in fact, important to have) an event that we can hook into, after the Edit event fires but before the editor template (more relevant when the editor is a custom popup template). Let me explain. On my custom editor template, I have a few dropdownlists that are not defined as foreign keys from the grid datasource. The dropdowns are defined on the template, usually with a Read action on it. This read action fires when the template is rendered. In the Edit event, I need to set some of the elements as different or hidden or shown based on the selected value from more than one dropdown. This is needed so that some other elements are shown/hidden when the popup is rendered. The problem is, The edit event is too early to know the selected items in these dropdowns since the data for these ddls are not loaded yet. Since I need values from multiple dropdowns, hooking into individual databound events of the ddls won't work either. So, if we had an event something like "BeforeRender" on the grid that fires after all the datasources are loaded and databound for all relevant elements on the editor template, but before the template is rendered onscreen that would be great. Then, we can hook into this event and when we do, all the datasources for all the dropdowns, comboboxes etc. are loaded and databound already. We can use the items from these elements to show/hide other elements.
Hallo,
i have a grid with a lot of data for a better representation i show some related values with a template in the cell below each other.
This solution is not optimal because I don't have the filter and sort function in the column header for every single field.
Enclosed an example https://www.igniteui.com/grid/multi-row-layout which illustrates my wish.
I would be happy if you implement this feature in a future release.
Hi,
We are using Fusion software and the grid ARIA attributes of rows are "aria-describedby". This results in the invalid/wrong action tips for Fusion users. If we change it to "aria-labelledby" it works well.
Currently, we have to override the private method _tmpl so we can edit the hardcoded attribute. We need to be able to change this part of the source:
if
(navigatable) {
rowTemplate +=
" aria-describedby='"
+ column.headerAttributes.id +
"'"
;
}
It would be great if we can configure them from the grid settings.
$(
"#grid"
).kendoGrid({
ariaAttribute:
"aria-describedby"
});
if
(navigatable) {
rowTemplate += (that.ariaAttribute ? that.ariaAttribute +
"='"
:
" aria-describedby='"
) + column.headerAttributes.id +
"'"
;
}
Adding the same functionality as filterable.extra but in row mode. Similar to the following demo http://dojo.telerik.com/AkaYi/2.
It would be nice if additional template variables where available, the only two: pageNum & totalPages are not enough.
Consider Time of Day & Filename at a minimum.

We have a problem when working with grid in batch edit mode which puts different fields in the In cell edit mode. The problem is that cell that are not edited (for example you create a new row, edit only the first field, press save) are never validated. This is of course because they never went into edit mode, so the control and validation was never rendered. Please give us a feature for such scenario.
After the kendoGrid is created, the headerAttributes field (of every column) has a id value (generated by Kendo) of some random GUID - but this GUID is nowhere to be found in the entire HTML.
So, there is no way to link a Kendo column object to an HTML (th) element.
When clicking on CheckBox to select a line, the widget check other checkbox (on other column of the same line) inserted from column template.
I suppose that the selector that the system use is too large.
For information, i created a template for boolean column based on how kendo generate checkbox structure (just de be coherent)
See the code extracted from https://dojo.telerik.com/EqiPIkiV
var checkBoxtemplate = function(boolValue){
var checkedStr = '';
if (boolValue) {
checkedStr = 'checked="checked"';
}
return '<input class="k-checkbox" data-role="checkbox" ' + checkedStr + ' type="checkbox"><label class="k-checkbox-label k-no-text smi-checkbox-fordisplay"></label>';
};
$("#grid").kendoGrid({
columns: [
{
selectable: true,
width: '30px'
},
{ field: "name" },
{ field: "age" },
{ field: "administator",
template: function (dataItem) {
return checkBoxtemplate(dataItem.administator);
}
}
],
dataSource: [
{ name: "Jane Doe", age: 30, administator: false },
{ name: "John Doe", age: 33, administator: false },
{ name: "BigBoss Doe", age: 70, administator: true }
],
selectable: true
});
Please consider adding groupHeaderColumnAttributes as a feature. groupHeaderColumnTemplate is a welcome addition to the grid capabilities and it would be great to easily set styles on group header columns. Frankly, it would be helpful to have attributes available for templates (groupHeader, groupFooter, etc.).
Thanks

I'd like to ask for a demo which utilizes the most up to date approach to creating a Kendo UI Grid using NPM, TypeScript, and in a SharePoint 2019 with a Gulp serve environment.
Thank you for your consideration!
It fails because before setting the value it performs validation. If validation was successful then it will set the value on model.
Since the desired field has no value and validation rule will fail on that.
It should accept the value and then perform validation. If validation fails with new value then it might discard the changes.
$("#grid").kendoGrid({
dataSource: {
batch: true,
transport: {
read: function(e){
e.success([1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9].map(function(i){return {id: i, title: "test" + i}}));
}
},
schema: {
model: {
id: "id",
fields: {
id: {defaultValue: "-1"},
title: {
validation: {
required: true
}
}
}
}
}
},
columns: [
{field: "title", title: "Title", filterable: {field: "title.a"}},
{command: ["edit", {name: "destroy"}]}
],
editable: {mode: "inline"},
filterable: true,
toolbar: [{name: "create"}]
});
var grid = $("#grid").getKendoGrid();
var model = grid.dataItems()[0];
grid.editRow(model);
model.set('title', '');
model.set('title', 'test 1111'); // it will fail
Hi Team,
We are have gone through the documentation for make specific column editable. We found that we need to make it in schema. As we are using some complex objects along with ODATA expand.
We are unable to maintain or Add all the fields under schema.If we make a editable property of column to Boolean and based on value framework will me either read-only or editable.
Consider a scenario like Grid with 10 columns based on quantity, price,discount change need to calculate the tax.
Here tax calculation will be dynamic and some columns we can add on the fly.
In some cases like ODATA expand if i want to make expanded column to editable then it a tough process to edit
like above situations it will be useful if we make column editable to Boolean for achieve column level editing
Thanks
Allow changing Grid's AutoComplete filter operator per Grid (not for each column) through a property
At the moment only the Kendo UI Grid with enabled mobile option will generate a header which can react to the touch and hold gesture.
This makes column resizing impossible when a web grid is used on mobile/tablet. Can you check internally if the grid is used on a mobile browser and create the mobile headers that work with the touch and hold gesture even when the grid does not have the mobile property enabled. This should work out of the box for all grids:
