Can you save default columns across all tabs? FiddlerEverywhere

It appears that I need to add new columns for "VIA" and "SERVER" with each new recorded HAR session that I open.

Is there a way to set these extra two columns to always appear in my defaults?

Hello,

Thanks for the additional feedback and the use-case you've mentioned. Indeed the current solution makes this use-case a little bit harder, so we'll look into improvements in this area. We were considering each tab with sessions as a separate entity with its own columns and visibility. Now, with this use-case we'll review our understanding and probably we'll be able to deliver this functionality in one of our next releases.

Saving column layout seems like a basic feature in most other products that I use. Even Chrome Dev Tools has it.

I open multiple customer HARs in one day and having to add the column manually for each file that I open is very annoying.

Please prioritize this feature request higher.

Best,

Tim

Hello Tim,

Thank you for your questions and feedback on the custom columns feature!

Indeed, at this very moment, you can only create custom columns per each separate snapshot (saved sessions). As we speak, Fiddler Everywhere does not have the option to apply custom columns globally for all snapshots and Live Traffic. That sounds like a legit feature, so I will move this thread to our Feedback section and mark it as a feature request for the team to discuss.

Meanwhile, note that you can create custom columns quickly through the Headers context menu. For example, right-click on a Server header and use Add as a custom column.

Your custom column automatically reuses the header's name.

I hope the above will help you recreate your columns quickly. Once again, thank you for the feedback and the logged feature request!
