"Unexpected error" when opening a fiddler trace sent through email

There's not really much more information, this occurred on both version 1.0 and 1.1. When I get an emailed fiddler trace (we ask clients for traces regularly), it opens a web page redirect https://redirect.getfiddler.com/open-fiddler.html#snapshotShared-<guid>, which opens the app, and at the top of the app says "Unexpected error" with seemingly no other information. I've tried this on multiple email requests, same effect.

Also on MacOS Catalina v10.15.6

Hello Jake,

The Unexpected error is definitely not something that should happen in this case. It could be caused by several reasons, like issues with the network connectivity, working behind corporate proxy, etc.

In order to investigate this issue further, can you please provide the following information:

1. Ensure the user who received the email is the same one who has signed in in Fiddler Everywhere. If the users are different, you'll not be able to access the shared trace.

2. If the users are the same, can you please provide the logs located at ~/Library/Application Support/Fiddler Everywhere/Logs for investigation.

3. Can you send us information about the emails that were used for sharing, i.e. email of the sender and email of the receiver.

As some of the information is private, you can open a support ticket through Fiddler Everywhere's in-app help menu or as described here. If you do not have access to the support there, you can post your question in the forum and we'll convert it to private ticket, where you'll be able to send your private information.

Regards,
