Live Traffic will not unpause on MacOS Catalina 10.15.6, new install of Fiddler Everywhere v1.0.2, not behind proxy. How do I get FE to work out of the box like Fiddler/Windows10?
The new version 1.1.0 is now live and you could give it a go. The version includes some fixes for different network configurations including a stable flow for working with VPN tools like CiscoVPN and automatic detection of proxy settings. A KB article describing the VPN workflow can be found here.

Yes, I am frequently switching between RAP, wifi, and VPN. In order to get apps working in our private network, I have to get them working outside of our network and then introduce a working use case into our dev env. -hth.
Looking forward to the new release, or any other info that will enable Fidler Everywhere to capture proxy settings, or function when no proxy is involved.
Please keep me posted.

Hey Mark,
The linked article and solution are applicable only for capturing localhost traffic, but it seems this is not the issue you are dealing with. From the log in netcore.log file, I've noticed that the Fiddler Everywhere client is unable to get the proxy settings that are set on your local machine. This seems to be the main cause for you not being able to capture any traffic. Can you provide us with the following information so we could investigate your case and understand what is causing the problem:
- Let us know if you are using multiple Internet connections. For example, Wifi + Ethernet.
- Have you, by chance, recently changed the name of one of the network connections (see the attached screenshot, for example, network name)?
Meanwhile, we have already identified some cases where specific network configuration might cause Fiddler Everywhere not to work as expected, and related fixes will be published with the new release. The new release will be published in the upcoming week - I will let you know once the new version is live to download and test it.

Q) When saying I am testing off-net do you mean that you are testing localhost requests?
A) No, I am saying there is only my mac, Fiddler Everywhere, the internet, and sites I wish to interact with and get traffic data. There is no proxy involved at this time. How do I get Fiddler Everywhere working in this most basic of use cases?
The article was interesting, but does not tell me where to make a change or why. It mentions to use a machine name or alias, but is this an env variable? FE setting? or what? More details (in the article) please.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark,
When saying I am testing off-net do you mean that you are testing localhost requests? If that is the case, note that in order to capture localhost traffic with Fiddler Everywhere, you need to either use the machine name (instead of localhost) or special aliases like ipv4.fiddler (again instead of localhost). Refer to this KB article for a detailed explanation of how to capture localhost traffic with Fiddler.

We changed in settings as you requested. This resulted in no change, Live Traffic would not un-Pause, and no http traffic was presented. I am testing off-net, so our proxy will not be involved, however I am sending over the proxy settings per your request. We have literally tried checking and un-checking every combination imaginable. See screen-shots attached. Please advise on next steps. Thanks in Advance.
Also, did you notice the Angular errors in the logs?
By default, Fiddler Everywhere should act as s system proxy (so that all the traffic goes through FE which acts as a MITM). Please check the "Act as a system proxy" checkbox in Settings > Connections menu and then pause/unpause the Capturing switch. If the above is not resolving your issue, please send us your macOS proxy settings (with and without Capturing turned on).
