No way to disable 'Get Started' panel on start

I'm using Fiddler [Oct-03-19] v5.0.20194.41348 on Windows 7 Enterprise. There's no way to disable the 'Get Started' panel on startup. 'Show on startup' is not checked but it still shows. Also it doesn't look very good. Also it downloads javascript and other stuff via http unencrypted from fiddler.com, and I'd like to stop that.

Hi Ray,

Fiddler is an application, with its workflow, and is not meant to be used as a testing framework. In this case, I would suggest you use FiddlerCore - the heart of Fiddler and integrate it into your app.

Yes, I can confirm that works as you described. I'd like to be able to disable it entirely though, (and all internal transfers, see 1403822) if that's possible.

Hi Ray,

Thank you for taking time to report these.

I just logged a separate bug report here for the bad look: "Get Started" tab doesn't look good when font size is increased. I also gave you some Telerik points as a token of appreciation.

For the "Get Started" tab behavior, it's the same as for all tabs - they could be hidden (e.g. by middle-clicking), but they re-show on app restart. In addition, the last visible tab is remembered and focused again on restart.

The only difference in the behavior should be that if the "Show on startup" is checked for "Get Started", on next app start it should become visible and focused disregarding the last visible tab remembered from the previous shutdown. That said, if it happened that "Get Started" was visible on the app shutdown, it would become visible and focused on the next startup despite the "Show on startup" value. Are you observing a different behavior?
