Bootstrap popularity is growing each day, not just as a flexible grid system, but for it's skinning capabilieties as well. There are dozens of sites with both free and priced Bootstrap skins..
It would be nice to have a skin for rad controls wich maps straight to default Bootstrap classes.
So that just using the bootstrap skins (+ base Telerik controls skin) will also theme the rad controls and changing the Bootstrap themes of course changes the controls theming.

I guess that option to have a "straight" mapping of the rad controls to the bootstrap default classes so to be able to take advantage of bootstrap themes would be a great addition.

Updated by Telerik admin on 10.4.2017:
The status of this highly demanded feature has been updated to Declined, but you can find details what has been done during the years for satisfying this request:

Since the markup of the controls does not offer direct mapping for the Bootstrap v3 and v4 themes and classes, we introduced a new Bootstrap skin for the suite based on Bootstrap 3 component colors, metrics and appearance. This skin can be easily customized in the Theme Builder (http://themebuilder.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax) in terms of colors which allows you to create Bootstrap like appearance for Telerik Ajax components which matches the colors of your Bootstrap apps and components.

If you have any other requests for Bootstrap, don't hesitate to share them with us.

I think you may consider the following similar type of control(s) in future release. I think the following is a good fit for use between a BI solution and standard reports. It gives regular users some flexibilities to generate ad-hoc queries within an application.

You're working on a cleaner css3 approach, however sprites are still resource being downloaded...it's be great if the controls we're using on our page had iconography consistent with the site theme *automatically* instead of needing to use a custom skin.

Can you please implement a clean fontawesome enabled skin? So instead of referencing a sprite and background position you instead would set :before or :after and content="\f002".

This makes the resulting resources much lighter...as there's no sprite (retina ready by default)

...it'd be up to us to have fontawesome loaded on our page.

(Teampulse uses fontawesome, and they have at least 1 radgrid)

The ASP.NET community really seems to be missing a proper property grid.
The only example I could dig out was the outdated implementation on codeplex:
http://propertygrid.codeplex.com/

I'd like to see one such implementation from Telerik.

I would like to suggest a new control build from the same paradigm as the RadSocialShare.
The control should enable a website to provide an easy way to setup shared sign up / login from different providers on your website.

E.g. an easy way to let users sign up using their facebook account or Google account etc.

I would like to suggest a new product for Telerik: a html5 document editor (so not a html editor) which can edit docx documents. Recently I stumbled on the new html5 document editor by Teamlab (see http://html5.teamlab.com/), which will get its first major release this summer. I think such a component would also be an excellent addition to the Telerik product line as well (and probably a nice competitive advantage), since you already have some experience with the SL RichTextBox. It's probably not an easy project, but in the many years I've been a Telerik customer, I've seen a number of amazing components been created, so please forgive me for the high expectations. Just to mention (and perhaps as extra fuel for your discussion with management ;-)), I would personally favour a new HTML5 based editor. The current ASP.NET AJAX RadEditor is great in what it does -> HTML editing. Docx editing is very different in my view, both feature-wise as in regards to user-experience. As you can see from the Teamlab editor, it for example includes pagination and printing. I think it uses a different method for rendering too, e.g. canvas/SVG for pixel-perfect rendering. Very important for users to have what they type and see displayed on the screen be exactly the same as what they print. Basically I'm suggesting a MS Word Light by Telerik, something I believe your current SL RichTextBox is as well.

We need the exactly the same control that the guys over in Silverlight have:

http://www.telerik.com/products/silverlight/expressioneditor.aspx

I am in desperate need of this control in the ASP.Net platform.

Column width can be manually set via ExportInfrastructure.Column.Width, however, the width cannot be set to be based on the width of the column's cells' content. An auto-size property on the columns would be very useful for properly formatting the Excel file.

As part of the Fall Creators update, Microsoft are releasing SDKs for their Fluent design system for UWP app design.

It would be great if Telerik could expand their skins to include controls designed to mimic the look and feel of the Fluent design including, where possible, Acrylic, Parallax, and Reveal. I believe that light or dark themes will be standard on the Fluent design, but users will be able to incorporate the their accent colour preference. So, at the least it would be great to have fluent light, and fluent dark skins with an easy method of similarly changing the accent colour.

Of course, not all of the functionality of UWP will be possible for ASP.NET AJAX, but since Fluent is likely to become the new standard for UWP app design, I believe that users will come to expect similar skins in their web-apps.

See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/layout/design-and-ui-intro for more info.

We could use a new calendar control that works differently than the scheduler, or any existing calendar control.

Overview of features and how it would work:

  • User selects a month, the calendar auto draws the month as a calendar view with options to set day of week as short, medium or full length.
  • The calendar has an input field which can handle validation if needed. Validation example:
    • Only accept integers
    • In logic, if X = Whatever, then only allow input value of 1.

  • Treat as an array so we could loop through the control and read each value for saving to database or to take action on from code.

  • Example shown below. This is dynamically creating using tables and HTML. Not the nicest looking, and a pain to reuse anywhere. We could make use of this type of control in a lot of applications.

Currently, if a RadWindow is maximized, then minimized, then restored it will get the dimensions it had before maximizing. A window in the OS will maximize if it had been maximized prior to minimizing and the RadWindow should have the same behavior.
