Valuefilter is not working

Bug can be observed in Pivot Grid => Olap Sorting example in  the most recent demo.

Sadly i do not know what this menu is called in english (and the demo cannot change language) so here is a screenshot



Set it to 'Equal' 'Lisa Cai'




If you hit ok and refresh, all values are gone.
Weirdly if you change it to not equal, you still get zero results

Hello,

Thank you for the additional feedback.

I can confirm that the described behavior is a little unintuitive and I have thus logged a new feature request on your behalf on the matter to ensure incorrect values cannot be input in the dialog. You can vote for the item to raise its priority in our backlog.

Maybe the problem is, that typing an invalid value like "saussage" removes it from the filter resulting in no filter beeing applied.
If that is the case, the dialog should not close like everything is allright, but alert the user that he typed an incorrect value or something.

Please excuse me for not demonstrating this in my previous reply - I also tested typing an invalid string (such as "saussage") and this does not clear the data at my end, but rather - simply does not have any effect. Please observe the recording below:

Would you please let me know if I'm missing an important step or doing something incorrectly?

Hey Dilyan

if it is supposed to have no effect, then it should not make all values disappear.
Right now saussage will lead to an empty view, regardless of the type of comparison.

Hello,

Thank you for the provided image.

I tested the functionality of the filters for the given field, however, the results I observe are expected. Please refer to the following recording:

You can notice that if a valid value is chosen from the filter dropdown, that the filtering is applied correctly. With this said, setting an incorrect value (such as "saussage") is expected to not have an effect. For comparison, this is also not a valid scenario when using Microsoft Excel's Pivot table.

Please let me know if this addresses your concern. Do let me know if I have misunderstood you in any way

Hello,

we testeted the new version and the function does not appear anymore.

However it still appears in a differnet place 8same example) and is not working either.




Try setting it to contains "saussage" or not contains "saussage", it has no effect.

As the required MDX query does not seem to be supported we've decided to hide these filtering options from the UI with our latest internal build (2021.3.1004).

Thank you for your patience.

The problem seems to be related to the OLAP cube. When applying the same setup in Excel, this option is not available. This leads me to think that this option should not be visible on our side. Or we should add additional code to make it work. In any case, we should investigate more deeply and improve this option. I am approving this item. When we planned this behavior for fixing we will update the status of the item so that you can be notified.
