When having multiple tests open, toggling between custom layout causes the application to crash after doubling click onto the test on the project pane.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a sample project, open Test #0 - Attempt login with invalid credentials, verify correct error message, Test #1 - Attempt login with valid credentials, verify successful and Test #2 - Fill Out and Submitting a form (containing multiple fields) then toggle between custom layout.  In my example, I toggled between high productivity to compact in the custom layout. See ScreenShot_1

2. Double click onto Test #0 - Attempt login with invalid credentials and the application will crash. See ScreenShot_2

I’ve a workaround which is to selecting the test in the dropdown menu in the steps pane.  I’ve provided the crash log and screenshots for your review.

1. Create an ApiTesting project
2. Create a test step that uses a variable (e.g. create a SetVariable step that reads a variable named "var1" and saves it to another variable "var2") (see the attached sample project)
3. Run the project via command line, passing the var1 and its value as a command line argument. Use a value for var1 that contains an equals sign "=" - e.g.:
test -p \"C:\\Users\\{account}\\Desktop\\ApiSplitTest\" --save-contexts -v var1=value1=value2
4. To check the result of the test, you can open the "{ProjectPath}\variables\Test Case.variables" file - it should contain a runtime variable "var2"
Actual result: Any text in the variable's value after the = sign is cut-off - it appears as "value1"

Expected result: The value of the variable should be: "value1=value2"

Progress Telerik Test Studio

In the API Project tool, create an HTTP call and add a header with the follow text for as the value.  Double clicking the value crashes the application.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Execute a test with Run->To here

2. Wait for few seconds and pause the Recorder. (no further steps should be recorded).

3. Select any steps in the test and run these with Run-> Selected steps.

4. Once these are executed, perform any actions against the page.

Expected: Since the recorder is still paused, no steps should be recorded.

Actual: The performed actions in step 4. are getting recorded.

Good morning Elena,

I am noticing that every time I attempt to rename an element I am getting an "object reference error" as per attached image.

Thanks

Hi,

We are having TestStudio_2015.3.1015_Runtime and when we installed this version of Runtime on Windows 2016 Standard server, it is not working.

Our first test starts with taking the user credentials and when it asked for User Id and Password it does not enter the details.

On Windows 2012 Standard server it is working fine.

Please find the attached image for your reference.

With Warm Regards,

Sumit Kumar

You have a very obvious spelling mistake when using the visual studio plugin

manuialy is spelled manually.

Small mistake but in a very prominent place.

Intermittently, Visual Studio 2012 Test Explorer will not list Test Studio tests in the open solution. Restarting VS 2012 and re-opening the solution may temporarily work around this behavior.

I opened Telerik on my PC this morning. I clicked on the Test project I wanted to open- it was there right in front of me, I double clicked to open it, then the program threw an error and stated that the project did not exist. After closing the error message sure enough, my project had disappeared. That project had the startings of our automated test list. Could you advise me how to get that project back? Why it decided to delete the project and all it's tests? And where those tests and the Project may have gone?
Thank you in advance.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a test with Capture browser step.
2. Execute it as a test list when Chrome is launched on the second monitor (not the main one).

Expected: To create an image of the browser.

Actual: Test Studio creates a blank 1kb image.

This works as expected with the other browsers.

Databinding to an Excel .xlsx didn't work, it only worked to a .xls file. Considering that format is Office 97-2003 and it's 2016 I'd expect .xlsx to work. At the least I'd expect the app to give me a message stating it isn't supported.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start recording
2. Highlight an element on a page and from quickstep menu select "Add to elements..."
3. Change to the "Element friendly name" dialog (BTW: In nearly all cases the menu appears in the background and you have to know to switch to it - user unfriendly, display it in front)
4. Set name
5. Add a step for the element (e.g. verify that text is something)
Result:
* In the element explorer is friendly name
* In the step properties (Primary Target) is friendly name
* In the step description is some generated name (e.g. Verify 'TextContent' 'Contains' 'Sign in' on 'IdSSpan'). Where 'IdSSpan' is some generated name not used anywhere and 'SignInText' is friendly name.
* When I try to reset name, the generated name is stuck. The only way to fix it is to choose again the same element using primary target in step properties.

Expected result:
The name in the step should be friendly name. It makes it pretty hard to discern if I added another element to the page or if an already existing one was used.

I have seen several feedbacks with similar/same problems, but they had comments that it was fixed long time ago so I am submiting a new one.
