After navigating to a specific page of a customers application while using the Chrome recorder, the highlighting is way off. Highlighting works as expected when recording in IE. Specific repro stpes will be given in the internal bug report.

The value for UseQuery in a FrameInfo is always set. You clear it, save changes only to find it's turned back on. Test Studio is not persisting the change to disk.

Attached to the internal problem report will be a link to the project as well as a link to a 5 minute video demonstrating the problem.

A specific customer test, when run in Chrome, is frequently (but randomly) failing while running.
The customer is using https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/user-agent-switcher-for-c/djflhoibgkdhkhhcedjiklpkjnoahfmg to simulate that the browsers are on a mobile device.
So, this causes the website to behave differently (it thinks it's talking to an iPhone).

 The test log shows:

'8/20/2014 2:01:52 PM' - 'Fail' : 37. Verify 'InnerText' 'Contains' 'Lingerie' on 'CategoryHeading'

Most of the time it fails on one of the many Verify steps, but you cannot predict which one. I tried increasing the WebKitExecutionDelay to solve the problem. It did not help.

The test that demonstrates the problem will be attached to the internal bug report.

After using the Visual Debugger to modify the find expression of an element, after the test is complete Test Studio prompts you to save changes into the test project. After you click Apply, Test Studio may take excessively long to store the changes.

Here's a video demonstration from a customer having the problem:
http://screencast.com/t/OHxRLid9MeW

Repro steps will be given in the internal bug report.

Test Studio records successfully the typing step in a WPF application that uses RadControls version 2013.3.1016.45.

When you try to execute the test, it fails with exception that the element is not located.

During a further examination, we can see that Test Studio has recorded a TextBox element with a find logic that includes AutomationId. The problem comes from the fact that the GridView gives AutomationId to the TextBox element only after you type at least one character inside this TextBox element. Before the typing, this element doesn't have AutomationId and for that reason Test Studio is not able to locate it.

Sample test and WPF application are attached in the internal description.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open IE 8

2) Navigate to http://www.thinkbroadband.com/download.html

3) Click on one of the download links

4) Test Studio records "Handle 'Generic' dialog." test step

During test execution this step fails.
In order test to pass, you need to add manually "Handle 'Download' dialog." test step.

Currently we're missing a Translator for Kendo DatePicker. A Kendo DatePicker is a KendoInput and KendoCalendar combined and we have translators for both of those things. But the DatePicker appears to have some special properties that make it very hard to automate without a Translator.

Steps to repo:
1) Create a Test and start the Recorder
2) Record NavigateTo("http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/datepicker/rangeselection")
3) Record "Open Kendo DatePicker"
4) Record selecting any date

Expected: the test passes on playback flawlessly
Actually: the KendoCalendar control has a dynamic ID. Because of this the test will fail on playback. It's very difficult to get this test working at all without using a coded solution. It gives customers a bad impression when it's difficult to automate our own controls.

The actions against the drop down in a popup are not recorded. Here is a sample video demonstration:

http://screencast.com/t/EyYxxpLr

Detailed repro steps provided in the internal description. This is working fine with Chrome. Another work-around is to add the drop down element manually in IE and add necessary steps via the Step Suggestions.

If elements of a WPF application contain AutomationID's Test Studio will record them in the Find Expression. When you playback the test, it appears the AutomationID's are not detected. The step will fail with "element not found". If you study the Visual Tree, the element is present but the AutomationID that is supposed to be there (and actually is in the application) is not shown.

In the DOM explorer's Verification for Content, the InnerText of the selected element is truncated. I can click in the field and move to the end of the text, but it's still the truncated content. If I move into the text field and press Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C, the *proper, untruncated* content is copied to the clipboard.

Hoverover text shows full content.

1) Load the attached Fiddler playback trace file in Fiddler
2) Start the auto-responder
3) Launch Test Studio recorder on a machine with IE 8
4) Navigate to http://qcom.test/default_login.asp

Expected: A NavigateTo step to be recorded along with a Connect to Modal Popup step
Actual: The Connect to Modal Popup step is not recorded.

NOTE: This works as expected using IE 10.

In addition to the original server, I have two execution servers created and "connected" to the scheduling server. However, the only execution server that is listed is the local machine of the box the tests are running from.

One of the execution servers is a physical box with Win 2008 R2 box and is connected over a VPN. The other is a VM with Win7 running on the original computer (also running the scheduling server and acting as one of the execution servers).

What am I missing?

In a customer specific application is a popup context menu which is opened via a right click. When recording Test Studio records clicks on wrong items in the menu. The problem is specific to IE 9. It does not repro in IE 10 or Google Chrome. Customer requires IE 9 as their application is only supported on IE 9.

Repro steps will be given on the internal bug report.

The application starts with a log in screen. After login in it disappears and the actual application is launched, however Test Studio has no time to connect to the second window and throws the following exception:

Element was 'not found'. Criteria: Element 'Exists'.

Page being searched 'WpfWindow_16450718'.

The workaround is to insert an execution delay more than 5 secs after the login.

The steps to reproduce and access to the application are in the internal description.
