When you schedule a test list you have a Get Latest from TFS option. When you Run List Remotely this checkbox is missing. Since we are a TFS shop we really need this option added to Run List Remotely.
When you include a test as a step into a higher level test, breakpoints in the inner test don't work. This is very inconvenient when you want to execute a "tree" of tests and need to stop in one of the nested tests.
Currently when a test step is set to SimulateRealClick or SimulateRealTyping, the target element is unconditionally scrolled to the top of the browser window, even in cases where the element is already visible. It would be more efficient to test if the target element is already fully visible and only scroll when needed.
It is currently not possible to set “OR” rules in dynamic test lists. For instance if we have lots of folders with tests and we want to create a list with tests from the folders “Pages” and “News”, currently test studio applies “AND” rule and searches for a path name containing both words.
TS has the built-in ability to auto detect the jQuery change event for drop down and list box because it's pretty common there. In addition to that though we also need a more general way to cover all possible jQuery events that actually can be attached to any element, for example input.
Be able to execute the same test case or step multiple times for each record in a data source (external file or built-in collection). Each record in the data source should provide arguments to be used as input values for execution of the step or as expected values for verifications.
We should support Microsoft's implementation of the popular distributed version control system (DVCS), Git, within Team Foundation Server 2013 and their cloud-hosted offering, Team Foundation Service (TFService).
Allow the ability to create a custom folder structure to organize project elements within the Element Repository. This will be helpful for cases where there are many elements on one page, or other more beneficial orgs for elements. This should be an alternative and additional view for the element repository, retaining the option to see elements organized in current view.
Many people are using Visual Studio Online now for building their project. They need an example how to get Test Studio tests running in this environment. Apparently it's possible to hook an on-premise build controller and build agent into your VSO account.
Option is currently limited to only the manual test opened in Test Explorer.
Currently the Test Studio Load testing feature will only detect dynamic targets if they are in a standard key-value query format. Load testing should add support for dynamic targets received and sent back to the WebAPI in a JSON format. JSON is ubiquitous and the lack of support for JSON dynamic targets is a big limitation.
From ticket 843450: When viewing scheduled test list results, then navigating to the test, then attempting to return to the results page causes the results page to reload and lose my previous location. 1. browse to the results page and open a result 2. Observe a test execution error and open the test with the icon on the upper right 3. Observe / correct the specific test 4. Attempt to return to the results page and observe that the results must be re-loaded and my previous place is lost (set to default weekly view, no test opened)
I do not see any feedback items that talks about the updates to test studio and integration of test studio and visual studio 2013. I would assume that this would most likely be in a major release.
It would be nice to have the story board capture subtest screenshots instead of the "Test Step" placeholder. It would be fine maybe to watermark the screenshots with "Test Step," but still show the screens for reference.
