The concern is that Test Studio begins performing the search dynamically as soon as the first character is typed, and continues redoing the search on each subsequent character typed and for very large projects this causes the tool to freeze for several minutes.

It would be nice to have the ability to disable the dynamic search feature (as soon as a character is typed) and have a search bar that requires a full string of text entered before the search is performed.

Additionally, after a search is completed, all nodes in the project tree structure are expanded with no easy way to collapse the tree back again.

When someone else does open the projectfolder from a shared drive (or copy it to it's local), the bodies of the http requests aren't equal to the original ones.

For example:
Original: grant_type=password&username=bladibla
Copied: {"Content":"grant_type=password&username=bladibla","Mode":"raw"}

Is there a way to get around this?

In the new build pipeline in TFS 2015, there is no ability to run Test Studio tests because it uses a different build agent than the XAML builds, failing because of lack of interactivity. According to Telerik Support, this is a known issue.

Going forward, I would hope that Telerik would support this new build automation from TFS.

Once tests are run using ArtOfRunner in command line, I like to extract the results (number of tests, passes tests, etc) so that I can send email with the pass rate and number of tests run. I can do this opening the results file and making into word/excel. There it gives all details. These details not saved in this file, SanityChrome 131250182933109322.aiiresult. Where can i see the tests passed out of line ?

thanks,
Sri

Whenever you create multiple new folders and try to rename them, the folder gets deselected and the screen does a quick flicker. If you try again, then it works fine, but it happens constantly for me each time I try to rename a new folder.

It would be very beneficial to be able to select multiple test list results and be able to mass export them all to a single location as excel spreadsheets.

Currently, it is very tedious to go through and manually export each test to excel, especially when you have a lot of test lists that get run as part of your suite.

The image verification step could be converted to extraction step. The extracted variable is stored to a string element usually so it is not the image itself. It should be removed as an option for image verification step.

Seems to hang for 5+ mins with large (800kb) XML response (ATOM Feed). My response is a single line with no breaks which maybe compounding the issue?

Possibly related to the prettifier: https://feedback.telerik.com/Project/182/Feedback/Details/195944-api-tester-formatted-response

I can't exactly replicate but I did get it to work once but if I open a new project and change base-url to for instance localhost:54304 I can see the request is being sent to localhost:5000/api/blah when I plug in {{base-url}}/api/blah to a new step. I even had it where I got it to recognise the right port but then realised I had made a typo "localhost:5430" and couldn't get it to recognise the new value

Steps to reproduce:

1. Get the attached sample project. Review the bound Excel sheet in the Data folder - it contains dynamically changing formulas which show the current time and date.

2. Execute the test in the project. The values from the data source in the iteration will be the last refreshed when the excel file was opened.

Expected: The file to be refreshed before the values for the iteration are taken

Actual: The values remain the same until next time the file is opened from the project location.

There is no option to save only one test in the project. When you press the save button Test Studio saves all tests that are marked as dirty.

The workaround is to go to the Recent project and reopen the same project you are working on. In this case a dialog with all dirty tests is displayed and the one can uncheck some of them.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open a Test Studio project in Windows file explorer.

2. Copy and paste a test in a new folder within the projct.

3. Press the Refresh button in Test Studio so the test appears.

Actual: The new test has the same ID as the original test.

Expected. Test Studio should change the ID. This works if you select Add existing test from the project explorer.

The validation for creating PATCH requests is wrong on TestStudio. It stops you from putting anything in the body of a PATCH request.

However, if you create a PATCH request on Fiddler with a JSON body for updating some data, it works fine. Should allow this on TestStudio also. Quite an important flaw.

If scheduler is overloaded or stuck it will stop working. It should either attempt to auto-recover or send an alert that is not running.
