When a coded step fails to locate the target frame all you get is something like this: Failure Information: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Exception thrown executing coded step: 'Verify the General Information tab opens successfully'. InnerException: System.TimeoutException: Wait for condition has timed out at ArtOfTest.Common.WaitSync.CheckResult(WaitSync wait, String extraExceptionInfo, Object target) at ArtOfTest.Common.WaitSync.For[T,V](Func`3 func, T target, V custom, Boolean invertCondition, Int32 timeout) at ArtOfTest.Common.WaitSync.For[T,V](Func`3 func, T target, V custom, Int32 timeout) at ArtOfTest.WebAii.Core.Browser.WaitForFrame(FrameInfo frameInfo, Int32 timeout) at ArtOfTest.WebAii.Core.Browser.WaitForFrame(FrameInfo frameInfo) at Pages.PegaCaseWorkerPortal2Page.get_FramePWGadget3Ifr() in C:\Users\tyagam\Documents\Test Studio Projects\ROAM\Pages.g.vb:line 499 at ROAM.NewROLGenInfoTab.NewROLGenInfoTab_CodedStep2() in C:\Users\tyagam\Documents\Test Studio Projects\ROAM\NewROL\NewROLGenInfoTab.tstest.vb:line 75 A very important piece of info is what frame info Test Studio was trying to use at the point of failure. Please add this info to the log ASAP. Lack of this information makes diagnosing the problem MUCH more difficult.
When you want to add a new group of filters in the find expression of an element it is always placed as the last one. It doesn't mater from which of the previous group the new one is added (clicking the blue arrow). The new group of filters should be added right below the selected one. The workaround is to move it from the advance verification window. See the attached screen shot.
Some developers are starting to use Google Chrome Portable: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/google_chrome_portable. However Test Studio does not recognize this version of Google Chrome so it can work with it.
If you need to create a test that uses two browsers, and you must switch between browser A and browser B (e.g. Manager and Employee windows) currently this is difficult to do and requires a lot of coding. Can an easier method be added so that you can point "ActiveBrowser" to a specific browser and allow all following test steps to work on this window?
Recording and playback is not supported on Dev versions of Google Chrome. We should block recording and execution if we detect this edition of Chrome is installed. This is easily detected by looking at the version string. It will say something like "Version 43.0.2342.2 dev-m" whereas the release version will say "Version 41.0.2272.101 m". Note the presence of "dev".
I am having more than 100 Excel workbooks in the Data Folder with Different Module. Its difficult to search and Bind sheets to the tests. If am having option to Manage Sub folders inside Data Folder means i can split my Excel workbooks depends upon the module. Then it will reduces the search and binding process for my project. So please consider to add this feature to our next version.
With the latest update, the step builder options were put in a dockable panel. It would be nice if those were also in the ribbon.
Please add the ability to export the data from the Details tab in the Performance testing in excel. Refer to the screenshot attached internaly for more clarity.
As it stands if you want the scheduling server to be able to access TFS you need to set the scheduling server service login credentials to your TFS credentials as detailed in this telerik documentation http://docs.telerik.com/teststudio/features/scheduling-test-runs/change-service-account) . However in certain instances it is not possible due to domain issues to get this to work. So it would be nice to have the scheduling sever use a set of credentials for logging into TFS that are separate from the credentials used to startup the scheduling server service.
I have a builtin "Verification Step". Once I convert this to a coded step I get the following auto-generated code: Pages.TilmeldingTilSlagtning.dropDownDataIdent.Wait.ForExists(30000); This no longer looks like a Verify step. In fact it looks like a Wait step. Now the questiong begs: Why does it automatically convert a verify step to a wait type step ? The builtin step to code conversion process should convert it to code that is 1:1 to the original step.. agree ? regards
It would be nice if the annotation time doesn't reset back to 400 ms every time one reopens Test Studio. It should be saved for the particular project. The "Wait on Elements" and "Client Ready" persist for the project.
An useful feature in Test Studio will be if the BaseURL in the navigate step of the test is able to override the global BaseURL in Recording Options. Please consider this feature request.
Please consider the following customer's request: Currently, Test Studio results is capturing following information. 1. Test Path 2. Browser 3. End Time 4. Passed/Total 5. Result We are storing our test case detail in Test Script Description property. It would be helpful if you provide an additional column in result grid for Test Script Description so that we can quickly verify failing script manually. This will solve our short term need. As a long term solution to such cases, can you please provide a customize column option to select columns based on the need? I believe this feature will add flexibility to the product.
Visual Studio has deprecated test lists. It has been replaced with Test Categories. Currently there is no way to put a Test Studio test into a test category. As a result, when using VS 2012 or 2013, or a TFS build definition in TFS 2012/2013, you cannot specify which tests to run. You can't specify a test list, only a test category, but Test Studio tests cannot be put into a category. You're stuck.
Currently Test Studio keeps the entire TFS connection settings in the projects settings.aiis file. This creates a problem when trying to work on the same project at two locations in which the URL to connect to TFS is different e.g. one URL to use for Intranet and another URL to use for Internet. To handle this situation the source path should be kept in the settings.aiis file, and some sort of server reference, but the URL to TFS should be outside the settings.aiis file, use a link or reference somehow. Similar to how Visual Studio accomplishes this.
