We use the priority and custom fields for dynamic lists management. We would like the capability to edit these in th VS plugin as well. Please port the Test Properties Editor that is in TS into VS plugin.
Executed test list through scheduling does not include screenshots in the email attachment. It would be nice if we send the images in the email as well.
In TTF you can get/set both the Orientation and OrientationType of an HTML RadToolBar control. Why is this not exposed, at least for verification, in the Step Builder?
This should solve the problem described in the following article: http://docs.telerik.com/teststudio/troubleshooting-guide/recording-problems-tg/silverlight-unable-connect-oob It is also related to this feedback item: http://feedback.telerik.com/Project/161/Feedback/Details/166046-the-recorder-cannot-attach-to-sl-oob-customer-specific-application
When using command line script on success, it simply says 'X number of tests run, X number of tests passed'. Please make the reporting more verbose from command line, so the email report will show all tests that have run whether they are Pass or Fail.
Here is what I noticed. When I changed my project settings in Test Studio, I changed the assembly name and namespace in the Script options. But I then had to change my Visual Studio project file to match. I would hope that it will synchronize / update my Visual Studio project to reflect the updated info.
When viewing the test Results view, there are things that I would like to have here. The test results view only shows me 5 columns and I cannot change these. These 5 columns are nice, but I want to see more. For me, I do not really care seeing the complete Test Path of my test, I would actually prefer to see just the Test Name. This would either eliminate or limit the dynamic nature of the column to resize the column length when initially loading the results tab of Test Studio. With that being said, if the Test Path changed to Test Name, I would assume that the Result column will be present with low need to resize the column to make it visible. At this time, I feel that the Browser column is not very useful to me, but is probably useful for others. So having the ability to customize the results view to have useful columns like Test Name, Start Time, End Time, Passed/Total, and Results would be extremely helpful. Also to have and/or know any other queryable field will be a great addition to this feature.
Hello, I am a pretty active member in the Feedback portal for Test Studio. My feedback is that it would be nice to know who other contributing members of the community are and also to identify if said member is a Telerik member or not. I only know a few members of the Telerik team through multiple communications via feedback portal.
Previously in the feedback item link below, it was mentioned that Test Studio needs to a better merge tool. Comparing Tests in Visual Studio is very difficult because the tests are all in one line. Similarly, the Test Lists comparison looks like this screenshot. It is difficult to actually see a difference in this side by side view shown in the screenshot. Like Konstantin Petkov said in the feedback item, it would be awesome if the tests can be compared at the step level. http://feedback.telerik.com/Project/161/Feedback/Details/88296-new-json-format-for-tests-is-really-hard-for-merge-compare
Currently Test Studio does not automatically detect when the RadBusyIndicator is active i.e. in IsBusy state making underlying controls unclickable. Test Studio will blindly ignore IsBusy and try to click on any underlying elements anyway which will likely get ignored by the application. Since RadBusyIndicator is a Telerik control, customers expect Test Studio to automatically detect it along with its IsBusy state.
I love the storyboard feature, but it seems that it lists the step, and takes the screenshot before the step is executed. So for example, enter text in the firstname box. It takes a screenshot of the textbox still empty but it shows it on the next step. I understand it has to be hard to figure out because a step that says click on this button would want an image of the button before it navigates to the new page. Are there any settings I can set for this? It is a great idea and feature if I can get it to work properly. Is there a way to export to word possibly and then I could edit the steps in order there easier?
The CommandLineClient has the following options currently: Telerik.TestStudio 2015.1.423.0 Copyright c 2008-2015 Telerik AD ERROR(S): -l/--list required option is missing. -l, --list Required. The location of the test list to run. -u, --scheduler A uri indicating where to send the test list to run. -d, --distribute Indicates whether to distribute the job across all machines -e, --emails Address(es) of recipients for the result email. --help Display this help screen. Please add the ability to specify what attachment to be send in the email with the results as it is possible when using the Test Studio UI (Word, Excel, .aiiresult).
Please add the browser name and version to the excel sheet generated by the schedule notification email.
When a coded step fails to locate the target frame all you get is something like this: Failure Information: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Exception thrown executing coded step: 'Verify the General Information tab opens successfully'. InnerException: System.TimeoutException: Wait for condition has timed out at ArtOfTest.Common.WaitSync.CheckResult(WaitSync wait, String extraExceptionInfo, Object target) at ArtOfTest.Common.WaitSync.For[T,V](Func`3 func, T target, V custom, Boolean invertCondition, Int32 timeout) at ArtOfTest.Common.WaitSync.For[T,V](Func`3 func, T target, V custom, Int32 timeout) at ArtOfTest.WebAii.Core.Browser.WaitForFrame(FrameInfo frameInfo, Int32 timeout) at ArtOfTest.WebAii.Core.Browser.WaitForFrame(FrameInfo frameInfo) at Pages.PegaCaseWorkerPortal2Page.get_FramePWGadget3Ifr() in C:\Users\tyagam\Documents\Test Studio Projects\ROAM\Pages.g.vb:line 499 at ROAM.NewROLGenInfoTab.NewROLGenInfoTab_CodedStep2() in C:\Users\tyagam\Documents\Test Studio Projects\ROAM\NewROL\NewROLGenInfoTab.tstest.vb:line 75 A very important piece of info is what frame info Test Studio was trying to use at the point of failure. Please add this info to the log ASAP. Lack of this information makes diagnosing the problem MUCH more difficult.
When you want to add a new group of filters in the find expression of an element it is always placed as the last one. It doesn't mater from which of the previous group the new one is added (clicking the blue arrow). The new group of filters should be added right below the selected one. The workaround is to move it from the advance verification window. See the attached screen shot.
Some developers are starting to use Google Chrome Portable: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/google_chrome_portable. However Test Studio does not recognize this version of Google Chrome so it can work with it.
If you need to create a test that uses two browsers, and you must switch between browser A and browser B (e.g. Manager and Employee windows) currently this is difficult to do and requires a lot of coding. Can an easier method be added so that you can point "ActiveBrowser" to a specific browser and allow all following test steps to work on this window?
Recording and playback is not supported on Dev versions of Google Chrome. We should block recording and execution if we detect this edition of Chrome is installed. This is easily detected by looking at the version string. It will say something like "Version 43.0.2342.2 dev-m" whereas the release version will say "Version 41.0.2272.101 m". Note the presence of "dev".
I am having more than 100 Excel workbooks in the Data Folder with Different Module. Its difficult to search and Bind sheets to the tests. If am having option to Manage Sub folders inside Data Folder means i can split my Excel workbooks depends upon the module. Then it will reduces the search and binding process for my project. So please consider to add this feature to our next version.
