Some JIRA installations are configured with custom fields that are required input when submitting a bug. For TFS we have a mechanism to handle similar custom required fields. A similar method needs to be implemented for the JIRA plugin.

Yes, the error that you receive is pretty generic. Part of the fix is to receive better errors. The error in the article is the one that you would most probably receive when you get a build with the fix.

This is not the error I am receiving. I am receiving an error that states the following:
Unable to submit bug to JIRA Server. Error: The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request. Please make sure the project schema contains 'Bug' item.
The project is setup with only the Bug Schema.

Hi, this is implemented and will be part of all incoming internal and official Test Studio releses. With the new implementation, we provide a way to set in a xml file the default data, which to be added in you custom fields, when submitting bug from Test Studio.
