Test Studio does not record after "Run to Here" in Silverlight
Recording in Silverlight applications does not work after you use the option "Run to here".
If you select "Run to here", the steps are executed and the recorder is attached successfully, however the recorded commands that are sent back to Test Studio are not added to the script. This can be reproduced with Silverlight application running in IE8/IE9.

Sample test is attached in the internal description.

Problem is fixed. RunToHere for silverlight apps should work again for every case where it has worked before. Fix will be included in the next internal build which will be available for download next week.

I am in the exact same situation with the upgade to 2013.1.827. I do pretty much the same thing as Supreet with our SL app. It's not feasible to re-attatch by refreshing as this invalidates the "run to here" scenario. Worked just fine on all previous releases.

Hello,

We were able to replicate the problem and will investigate it.

Thanks for your feedback!

This is really a show stopper. As of now we can not edit any existing steps, nor can we reuse the test as step scenario. Suppose I have a common test for login, I create a new test & want to reuse the Login test as a step I will need to click on Run to here & then continue adding more steps to it. Since it is now not working, this scenario can not be achieved. Effectively baring us from using Test Studio.
This is only happening in the latest 2013 build of the test studio. I can confirm that we were using the older versions just fine.

I'm also reopening this item as a FR since technically speaking and in theory the implementation can handle this race condition. However please be informed we don't have plans to rework the way Test Studio attaches the recorder to a SL app so far.

Thanks!

Hi Eng,

There are no changes in this requirement with the 2013.1 releases.

However whether it manages to attach the recorder does depend on the actual application under test. I suspect that app got bigger to load recently which made the chance for attaching the recorder fall down significantly.

Regards!

Some how this issue only happen in the latest version (2013.1 911). I don't face this issue with the previous version. Btw, I'm using both IE9 and IE10.

Hello,

You need to refresh the browser in this case. This is the same limitation as described here:
http://www.telerik.com/automated-testing-tools/support/documentation/user-guide/troubleshooting_guide/recording-problems/silverlight-recorder-must-be-attached.aspx

Thanks!
