2013 R1: Initial beta feedback
Almost every part of the new R1, is so nice looking now...very simple, clean, elegant...and then you start recording and it feels like you're not using test studio anymore

The recorder popups verification windows (and the drag bar) are all still the old cartoonish windows. Perhaps it's just due to time constraints, but please PLEASE kill those...it's not a good style....at the very least kill the dropshadow on the red element hover.

From the dropshadow on the red element highlight, to the blue gradient circles, to the wierdo iPhone UI...it was the first thing I went in to check to see if it's been updated.

Overall though, I'm loving the UI change...so happy

Ah, so we have an installer issue here, sorry about that!
Please try a new clean install (possible and submit a support ticket sending the environment info so that we can try to replicate that in the lab. Please also send the installer log if it fails, see here:
http://www.telerik.com/automated-testing-tools/support/documentation/user-guide/troubleshooting_guide/installation-problems/create-installer-log-file.aspx

Thank you!

Sorry I should have mentioned that...but eluded to it above...can't follow the instructions, those extensions aren't listed in either browser

They were closed on install too

Right, that seems to be the behavior of the RibbonView:

As to the browser extensions, can you please follow the instructions from the screen shot to enable them manually? As I mentioned Chrome and Firefox disable the extensions initially for security reasons.

GOT IT...okay, if you have like the "Results" tab selected...then double-click it again, it shrinks up and hides itself

Looks like it works in reverse too, click it a second time to stop the hiding

So clearly not a bug, just wasn't expecting that to happen

No dice :) I get the following (attached) screenshot in chrome\ff

Re: Ribbonbar hiding - Okay so I re-opened this morning...and it's not happening...so something caused it to do that, let me play and see if I can replicate again.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for sharing your feedback! It is much appreciated! I also forwarded it to the team.

I agree there's more work needed on the UI. Unfortunately we had no chance to go over the entire application built for years and styling it in a few months. Still, we will keep improving the UI and making it more easy and intuitive for customers.

I'm not sure what you mean about the ribbon bar hiding issue. Can you please attach some screenshot (perhaps you can send it via support ticket?)? I'd like to look into this problem and see what's wrong there.

The problem with the Chrome extension sounds bad. You actually should have several extensions now on each browser thanks to the new recording experience in FF, Chrome and Safari. Unfortunately the browsers are known to disable the extensions initially so that the user should explicitly enable the extension they feel safe about. Same goes about our extension in both Chrome and Safari.

Speaking about the new recording experience, did you have a chance to play with the new recorder in Firefox? I got a quick video for you to point you how to get started. Check it out here: http://screencast.com/t/k4QJr0W1s.

Thank you!

I'm just gonna comment here instead of new threads...

- Love the new popup window purple->pink headers, look very...iOS7(ish)...very cool anyway, gives the app a nice feel.
- Clear\Delete X icon feels really out of place with the other guys...too...round?
- Storyboard needs some love still, I think you guys'll get there though. Coverflow effect pretty much died out years ago, it's really not awesome for viewing the storyboard. I have a big screen. I would prefer just a vertical or floated list of all the elements to visualize more quickly...and less gradients\dropshadows (per the styling)
- *INITAL FIRST LOAD* Find element popup screen. Same deal, bad grainy icons, and the fieldset control doesn't work well with the white background and chops off the top of the box.
- Find element dialog itself: Same deal, trying to be fancy and still has legacy styling. Giant yellow gradient, child element arrow, close icon, all still feel dated when we have this nice UI...also the button window animations are just WAYYY unnecessary, like someone discovered there was an animation property on the control and turned it on b/c it was easy to do...dated.
- I installed it all, firefox then prompted me to authorize I believe THREE(?) plugins...I enabled 2 then finished the installation or open VS or did SOMETHING and FF closed...I was never able to enable\find that third plugin to authorize...nothing weird\not-validated in my extensions window.
- Main menu tabstrip fade animation, again, see above...too cute...just change the menu items.
- Why do you have to keep hiding the ribbonbar on me when I click in the content area?...can I turn that feature off somehow? I always want the tools in my face, not have to keep re-clicking up there to see what's available....know what I mean?
- Chrome extension isn't there...and not in the extensions window either

Finally just because there's too many places...Please go in and just find and destroy the yellow gradient highlight. Makes the dialogs feel not quite finished.
